Tampa Housing Authority Launches The Obama Administration’s National Initiative ‘Connect Home’
On Wednesday, October 28th at the Cedar Pointe Apartment Community, the Tampa Housing Authority, along with the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County ed- ucational partnerships, openly discussed the launch- ing of the White House ini- tiative “Connect Home.”
Selected out of 27 cities nationwide, the Connect Home-Tampa objective is to bridge the technology gap for low-income families with children; hence eliminating economic, educational and social obstacles that stifle many neighbors and com- munities.
The launch included de- tailed information regarding the development of cyber communities as well as the low to no cost to its share- holders and publics.
Utilizing the Tampa Hous- ing Authority’s first SMART community Cedar Pointe as a model, this successful de- velopment is just the begin- ning to what families in public housing will have to look forward to. (PHOTOS BY BRUNSON)
