WILSON
DEACON ALEX FLOYD, SR.
Deacon Alex A. Floyd, Sr. of Tampa passed away Monday, Oc- tober 31, 2022. A Homegoing Celebration will be held Satur- day, November 12, at 11:00 a. m. at College Hill Church of God in Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street, Tampa, FL 33610, Superintend- ent
Charles Davis, Pastor with Pastor Kendrix Gardner, Eulo- gist, and Pastor Jesse H. Smal- ley, II, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Deacon Alex A. Floyd, Sr. was a native of Clayton, Alabama born to Andrew and Elvira Diggs Floyd. He was educated in the public schools of Barbour County, AL. He retired as an Auto Mechanic with Sears after 30 years of dedicated service.
He united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Mother Cora Lee Woodard Floyd in 1958. Together they relocated to Tampa, Florida over 60 years ago and was blessed with 9 lov- ing children.
Deacon Floyd accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful Ambassador for God and served in the following min- istries: New Friendship M. B. Church, under the leadership Reverend H. L. Daniels, Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, under the leadership of Bishop James Cochran, The Healing Temple Church, under the leadership of Bishop P. J. Welch and College Hill Church of God in Christ, under the leaderships of Bishop W. E. Davis and Superintendent Charles Davis. He served faith- fully on the Deacon Board of Col- lege Hill COGIC where he took great pride in his Sunday’s post.
Deacon Floyd was admired for his mild demeanor and yet powerful presence. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was not ashamed to speak the truth in love at every given opportu- nity. He shared his gift of healing
   by praying for others at any given moment, both locally and nationally. He worked tirelessly in the church and his community showing love to all who met him. He loved gospel music and as- sisted his wife to organize com- munity outreach services. They were known for organizing Gospel Music programs in the Tampa Bay Area at the Healing Temple Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and loyal friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 64 years, Cora Lee Woodard Floyd; siblings, Moses Floyd, Walter Edward Floyd, Jessie Kay Floyd, and Lucy Kate Reeves.
Deacon Floyd leaves to cher- ish memories of him with: his loving and devoted children, Beverly (Antonio), Alex, Jr., Mary Ann (Ivra), Christopher, Sr. (Maevonia), Celeva (Dwight), Carol Ann, Donamechia (Joe), Rufus, Sr. (Mary) and his de- voted and loving caregiver, Kathryn; 24 grandchildren, Aun- droushe, Antonishia (Thomas), Jeremiah, Nicole, Alex, III, Michael, Demarcus, Jackie, Tim- othy, Shelton, Dominique, Christopher, Jr. (Tacora), She’miah, Angel, Dwight, Jr., Dewan, Cierra, Darwin, Markza- vier, Christopher, Eric, III, India, Curtis, III and Rufus, Jr.; 23 great grandchildren; his lov- ing siblings, Mattie Lou Gilbert, Emma Neal Holloway, Hosie Floyd, Henrietta Brown, and Essie Mae Wright; sisters-in-law, Fannie Burks, Carolyn Jones, Annie Woodard, Mildred Woodard, Catherine Henderson and Yvette Floyd; brothers-in- law, Benjamin Wright, Elmer (Annie Doris) Woodard and Clinton Willis; a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own children; godchildren, Catherine Coley, Corey Coley (Ica), and Edward Bailey (Dena); a host of cousins; many “God” children for he touched the lives of all he came in contact with and gained many bonus sons, daugh- ters and grandchildren; his Col- lege Hill Church of God In Christ church family, COGIC church family, the Woodland Terrace Neighborhood Watch Grid #055; and he was blessed with many loyal and faithful friends who be- came a part of his extended rela- tives.
The visitation/ wake service will be held Friday, November 11th from 5 to 7 p. m. at College Hill COGIC, 6414 N. 30th Street, Tampa, FL 33610. The family is requesting Masks to be worn for both the Visitation and Homego- ing Celebration.

MR. LONNIE JAMES GLOVER, JR.
A Homegoing Celebration service for Mr. Lonnie James Glover, who passed on October 8, 2022, was held on Friday, No- vember 4, 2022 at 11:00 a. m. at Allen Temple A. M. E. Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street, Tampa, Florida, and Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Jr., Officiated. Inter- ment was held at Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Lonnie James Glover, Jr. was born in Tampa, Florida on June 6, 1995 to Lonnie Glover, Sr. and Jackine Brooks. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and gradu- ated from Chamberlain High School, Class of 2014. He en- joyed cooking, listening to music and spending time with his fam- ily and friends.
Mr. Glover was preceded in death by: his grandmothers, Joann Perkins Miller and Jacqueline Armwood; grandfa- ther, W. C. Brooks; aunts, Gloria Miller and Darlene Glover.
He leaves behind to cherish fond memories of him with: his mother, Jackine Brooks; father, Lonnie Glover, Sr.; siblings, Calvinnisha Young, De’Aubrey Brooks, Edward Lewis, III, Tyrese Lewis, Ashley Glover, Symone Glover and Dehante Townsend; grandmother, Mar- garet Wilson; aunts, Debra Miller, Deborah Brooks, Court- ney Miller, Trenise Miller, Dareka Smokes, Gloria Jones, Nikia Pearson, Teresa Brooks, Makeshia Brooks, Akeskia Brooks and Katrina Gaynor; un- cles, W.
