MOTHER BERNICE LEE JACKSON
A homegoing celebration for Mother Bernice Lee Jackson of Tampa, who passed away on Sat- urday, September 24, 2016 will be held Saturday, October 1st, 2 p. m. at Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc., 6304 N. 30th Street, Apostle James H. Howell, pastor, officiat- ing. The interment will be in Or- ange Hill Cemetery.
Mother Bernice Lee Jackson was born on January 3, 1923, to the late Jeffery and Susie Lee in Starks, Florida.
She married James (Andrew) Jackson. They moved to Ocala, FL (Zuber) in 1938. There were 14 children born to this union. She was a housewife of 24 years. She divorced in 1968 and moved to Tampa with 10 children.
She was employed at the Swe- den House Restaurant for 5 years (parttime). She then worked as a housekeeper and nanny for the Hobbs family where she stayed until retirement. She treated each of her children individually with special attention and care. She was the world’s greatest cook to our family; if you had one of her pound cakes, sweet potato pies or collard greens you knew it was good.
She joined St. Matthew M. B. Church and from there to Cathe- dral of Faith Church, Inc. She was the oldest member and char- ter member of Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc. and member of the Mother’s Board and Usher Board. She also loved to cook for the Mother’s Ministry.
She was preceded in death by: her daughters, Helen Mitchell and son-in-law, Robert and Eleonor Beauford; son, Louis Jackson; brothers, Oliver, Wilmar, Willie, Ellis, Jessie, Homer and Alex; sisters, Ida, Sarah, Carrie and Lottie; grand- children, Nekita Harris, Larry Jackson, Jr., Andrea Jackson and Baby Isiah.
She leaves to cherish her pre- cious memories with: her chil- dren, James Jackson (Christine), Larrie Jackson (Valerie), Zarah “Lee Andrew” Jackson, Leslie Jackson (Sandra), Gregory Jack- son (Harriette), Issac Jackson (Gwen), Pauline Bacon (Isaiah), Carolyn Jackson, Roxie Jackson, Cheryl Leonard (Robin) and Valarie A. Jackson-Schlosser; son-in-law, James Beauford; daughter-in-law, Peggy S. MR. CHARLES ANDREW WOODARD
Homegoing services for Mr. Charles Andrew Woodard of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Tampa General Hospi- tal, will be held Saturday, Oc- tober 1, 2016 at 11 AM at New Hope M. B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Rev. Robert Glass, pastor; Minister Bruce Bryant, officiating, and Elder Larry Sweet of Kingdom Disci- pleship Ministries, Bain- bridge, GA, eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mr. Charles Andrew Woodard was born Septem- ber 30, 1926 to the late William and Emma Woodard. He was educated in the public schools of Colquitt, GA. He dedicated his life to his family, friends, and neighbors. Mr. Woodard was formerly em- ployed as a Welder at the Florida Portland Cement Company and a former Deputy Sheriff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Woodard; wife, Mattie Woodard; son, Roosevelt Woodard; grand-daughter, Kim L. Woodard; several brothers and sisters.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: loving daugh- ters, Valisa A. Jenkins, Vanessa Woodard (Elijah), Mary Alice Woodard Ford and family, and Frances Mae Woodard Whitfield and fam- ily; 6 grandchildren, Roo- sevelt (Tuneshia), Gerald (Michelle), Jason Williams, George, Georgette (Johnny), and Germain; great-grand- children, Roche, Gerald, Ne- veah, Isreal, Jasmine, Miriam, Jonshea, Jakobe, Jaiden, Rashad, Bryce, and Jayla; sis- ter, Lucille Brown and family of Carolina; daughter-in-law, Alice Woodard; brother-in- law, Charles “Backup” Hall; devoted friend, Huey Lee Mungin, and a host of other sorrowing family and friends to include, Jenkins family, Burney family, Woodard fam- ily, King family, Pringley fam- ily, and Carroll family.

Jones “JJ” of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 will be held Saturday, Oc- tober 1st, 2 p. m. at New Bethel Progressive Baptist Church, 3011 E. North Bay Street, Rev. Reginal T. Webb, pastor, offici- ating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
James Arthur Jones was born on September 27, 1961 to Jesse Jones, Jr. and Barbara Brooks Jones in Tampa. He attended the local schools of Hillsborough County. He enjoyed fishing, rid- ing his bike, watching sports and being with his family and friends, overall protector. He was a member of New Bethel Progressive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: relatives, Bessie Stinson, Oliver Brooks, Tea Ollie Jones, Jessie Jones, Sr., Will Jones, Jimmy Jones, Willie G. Joiner, Elijah (Jake) Brooks, Mary Edna Brooks Joiner and Doris Lee Jones Mairel.

Mitchell of Tampa, who transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, Sep- tember 24, 2016 will be held Sat- urday, October 1st, 2 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Don Roberts, pas- tor of Bethel M. B. Church, Plant City, Florida officiating. The in- terment will follow.
Charlie attended Leon High School in Tallahassee, FL where he lived for 26 years before mov- ing to Tampa. He was employed by Home Depot and enjoyed working with his colleagues and was always in good spirits. Char- lie was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend to many people. Charlie’s most important and lasting gift to the world is his daughter; his pride and joy.

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Bernard Hernandez Thomas, Sr. of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, Sep- tember 21, 2016, will be held Sat- urday, October 1, 2016, 11 a. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., Rev. Eddie Nunn, officiating. The in- terment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Bernard Hernandez Thomas, Sr. was born on November 23, 1946 in Donalsonville, to the late Mannie Thomas and Tommie Lue Wimberly. Mr. Thomas at- tended the public schools of Duval and Hillsborough Counties and was a graduate of Middleton Senior High School, class of 1964. He was a member of the football team and was an out- standing athlete.
After graduation he attended Hillsborough Community Col- lege, where he majored in ac- counting. He was employed by General Cable for a number of years but, retired from Penn Central State Railroad after 30 years of service.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with: his wife, Laura Thomas; 2 children, Tonya Moultrie (Ben, Sr.) and Bernard H. Thomas, Jr. (Tameia); grand- children, Megan, Ben, Jr. and Lauren Moultrie, Kebreia, Jyliah, Tenejah, Aniyah; aunts, Lomia, Lee (Charles), Annie Pearl Wimberly, Leora Wimberly and Elizabeth Wynn; sister-in- law, Elizabeth Futch; nieces, Yas- meen Leon (Learnen), Kathy Anderson and Crystal Jolly; and a host of sorrowing friends.
