College Hill COGIC Celebrated 20 Years Of Pastoral Leadership

The College Hill Church of God In Christ celebrated 20 years of pastoral leadership by Su- perintendent Charles Davis. “Celebrating the Laborer That Dwells Among Us” was the central theme of the two-day celebration which began with a formal din- ner honoring Pastor Charles Davis and First Lady Deloris Davis on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
On Saturday evening the celebration focused on three specific areas of Pastor Davis’ Ministry – his Community Con- nections; Religious/Spir- itual Connections; and Personal Connections.
Beginning with a video message from Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, he was “roasted” by for- mer State Rep. Ed Narain; Chloe Coney; Lo Berry, CEO of Reach Up and Lorita Shirley, who is Chief of Commu- nity-Based Care at Eck- erd, celebrated Pastor Davis’ Community Con- nections.
Special greetings were sent by Bishop Matthew Williams, Jurisdictional Prelate of Southwestern Florida and a heartfelt roast from Su- perintendent Clethen Sutton, celebrating Reli- gious/Spiritual Connec- tions.

dish, Pastor Jadie Singletary; Deacon Clarence Gyden, Sadie Douglas and Dr. Shirley Harvey shared funny and personal stories with the 250+ attendees. The highlight of the evening was the surprise unveiling of the re-naming of the College Hill Conference Center located at 1002 E. MLK Blvd. to Charles Davis Conference Cen- ter. Supt. Charles Davis was escorted by his granddaughters, Jordan Boyd and Ja’Lyn Thompson.
At the formal dinner, First Lady Deloris Davis was es- corted by 2 of her grandsons, Malcolm Boyd and Charles Thompson.

Members Veronica Williams and Sharon Bell celebrated the anniversary with their Pastor and First Lady.
