Nine-Year-Old Hit And Killed Riding Bicycle
One family in Manatee County found themselves fac- ing a tragedy for the 4th of July they never anticipated.
Ginbilo Jordan Yarn, 9, was riding his bicycle in his neighborhood when he was hit by a car on the corner of 72nd Street Court, East and 14th Av- enue, East.
The accident was witnessed by Yarn’s friend, 15-year-old Omar Olvera. He told police herantoaditchonthesideof the road and that’s when he saw a car speeding by. When he turned, he said he saw Gin- bilo lying on the ground. They

striking the child, and a wit- ness jumped into his car and chased the driver. When he caught up with the driver, he asked the woman why didn’t she stop, and she reportedly kept saying she was sorry, and didn’t know she had hit the child.
Charges are pending against the driver at this time, and neighbors said the area is un- safe for kids because there are no sidewalks or speed bumps. They’ve also taken their com- plaints to the Manatee County Board of Commissioners and are awaiting some action.
WORDS OF AN EXON
DERRICK MOORE
We’re all born with an expiration date. No one lasts for- ever. Life is nothing but a grace period for turning our ge- netic material into the next generation. The data of life is transferred from parent to child. That’s how it works.
What is our legacy if we cannot pass the torch? Proof of our existence, a mark of some sort, when the torch is passed on from parent to child... It extends beyond DNA, informa- tion is imparted as well.
All I want is to be remembered by other people, by history.
A small group of people are trying to protect their power, their own interests by controlling the digital flow of informa- tion.
I want my memory, my existence to remain. Unlike an in- tron of history, I will be remembered as an exon. This will be my legacy, my mark on history.
Words from my grandson, Derrick Moore.
You are missed every day. We love you. Your family: mother, LaTrecin; grandmother, Wanda; great grand- mother, Pearl; brothers, Isiah and Leddirius; sisters, YaShakii and Reyonna; and nephews and nieces; and Ronnie and Oshely.

Manhunt For Another Escaped Murderer Didn’t Last Long
North Carolina authorities have recaptured escaped mur- derer Kristopher Antonio McNeil and brought up a fe- male prison worker on multi- ple charges, including having sex with the inmate, NBC News reports.
McNeil, 29, is believed to have climbed a fence to escape from a minimum-security unit at Brown Creek Correctional Institute in Polkton, N.C., ac- cording to the Associated Press. Officials there discov- ered on June 27 that he was missing.
The manhunt ended late Sunday. Authorities recap- tured McNeil after witnesses, who identified him from news

reports, reported seeing him walking along a highway.
After the arrest, they charged a prison food worker, Kendra Lynette Miller, with several felonies, includ- ing having sex with McNeil and aiding his escape. Accord- ing to NBC News, she gave McNeil a mobile phone.
Sister Of S.C. Shooter
Created GoFundMe Account
To Refinance Wedding
Amber Roof and her fiance.
Amber Roof, the sister of accused Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal shooter Dylann Roof, created a Go- FundMe page asking for help financing her wedding and honeymoon, hoping to raise some $5,000, the Post and Courier reports.
The page, which the news site notes has since been re- moved.
Amber Roof was hoping to raise the funds to "cover lost wedding costs, to pay bills and to send [her and her fiance] on our dream honeymoon." She also promised to donate 10 percent of the money to Emanuel AME Church, the church where her brother is
accused of opening fire last month, killing nine people.
Amber Roof and her fiance were sup- posed to be married on June 21, four days after her brother's alleged shooting spree. In the after- math of the tragedy, Roof and her fiance ultimately canceled
the wedding.
So she decided to start a
GoFundMe account. “We know money cannot replace the wedding we lost and our perfect day, however it will help us to create new memo- ries and a new start with our new family,” she added in the statement on the site.
Needless to say, although some people decided to help out the couple, others were not very impressed by the campaign.
