Woman Charged In Death Of Her 5-Year-Old Daughter
Quarrel Leads To Fatal Shooting In Parking Lot Of Gentlemen’s Club

A woman has been charged in the death of her 5- year-old daughter. She re- portedly led police on a chase that ended when the car landed in a retention pond. The woman got out of the car, but made no efforts to rescue her daughter.
According to police, Ms. Pamela Cabrera, 32, who has addresses in Tampa, sev- eral in Hillsborough County, and Lakeland, was observed

driving by an officer at a red light. Ms. Cabrera allegedly drove away leading police on a high-speed chase. Ms. Cabrera had her daughter, Vanity Cabrera, in the SUV.
The chase reportedly lasted about 30 minutes, reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour, before Ms. Cabr- era ran into the retention pond in Jacksonville, on I-95. Divers found the child’s body
at the bottom of the retention pond, outside of the SUV.
Police said the child had been removed from her cus- tody and placed in the cus- tody of her aunt and uncle. Last month, Ms. Cabrera is said to have kidnapped the child at knifepoint.
The Fourth District State Attorney’s Office last Thurs- day filed formal charges against Ms. Cabrera, in Jacksonville.
Man Accused Of Robbing Four Bay Area Banks

A 43-year-old Tampa man was arrested last week and charged with bank robbery. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on a bond of $52,500.
According to the Tampa Police Department, James Junior Williams, robbed a bank in February.
He is accused of walking into the Regions Bank, 2405 Swann, last Wednesday morn- ing, and demanded cash. How- ever, he fled before the teller could fill the bag.
An hour later, police say Williams successfully robbed a bank in Hillsborough County. He was identified and arrested by sheriff’s deputies lastThursday.
The investigation is contin- uing and additional charges may be pending.
Tampa Police are investi- gating a shooting that took place at a Gentlemen’s Club early Sunday morning. One of the men is cooperating with police.
According to police, at ap- proximately 1:50 a. m. Sun- day, police were called to the Scores Gentlemen’s Club, 2310 N. Dale Mabry, in refer- ence to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they learned that two men were in the parking lot when they became engaged in an argument. At some point, shots were fired.
One of the men was struck by gunfire and died at the scene.
Police have not released any additional information about the shooting.

Childhood Friend
 A jury found a Tampa man guilty in the shooting of his friend. The shooting took place in 2019.
According to
court records, a
video showed Ich-
mael Nieves and
Todd Norwood
walking down Union
Street on August 15,
2019. The two men reportedly became engaged in an argu- ment. At some point, one of the men, identified as Nor- wood, pulled a gun and wounded the other. Nieves survived the shooting.
Norwood was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
The trial was held two years after the shooting. Tes- tifying in court, Nieves said the man who tried to kill him in 2019 was his old friend from grade school, Nor- wood.
During the trial, Nieves testified that on August 15,

2019, he was walking home when Norwood approached him on a bike and started ha- rassing him and accusing him of being a nark.
Nieves was shot in the chest, piercing part of his lung.
Norwood claims during a prior encounter, Nieves made sexual advances toward him, something he said never happened.
After deliberating for two hours, the jury found Nor- wood guilty of attempted second-degree murder.
Norwood will be sen- tenced next month.
