MRS. CATHERINE YVETTE ALBURY
Mrs. Catherine Yvette Al- bury, affectionately known as “Cat” of Tampa, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Septem- ber 24, 11 a. m. at Revealing Truth Ministries, 5201 N. Ar- menia Avenue, Pastor Greg Powe, with Pastor John Acker, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Albury was a native and resident of Tampa for 54 years. She was educated by the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County and was a gradu- ate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She furthered her ed- ucation at Brewster Technical College. Mrs. Albury was a member of Revealing Truth Ministries and was employed as a Tax Auditor at HSBC.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bernard Al- bury; daughter, Tiffany Al- bury; granddaughter, Corrima Janae Albury; her parents, Fred Edward Sims and Rudine Laster Sims; grandparents, Fred Edward Sims, Sr., Tommie Lou Sims, Arthur Dugar and Ruby Dugar; aunts, Wanda Lemons and Rosa Burrow.
She leaves to cherish her memory: loving and devoted daughter, Shanitra “Nitra” Al- bury; loving and devoted sons, Detrick Albury and Sergio Al- bury (Carolina); amazing grandchildren, Devaries Buie- Albury, Elijah Albury and Jada Albury; sister, Priscilla Sims (Lonnie); sisters-in-law, Lisa Sims, Michelle Green and Wanda McCloud; brother, Fred Sims, Jr. (Jonnisha); brother-in-law, Leo Albury; aunts, Earnestine White (Eu- gene), Rosie Greenwood (El- bert), Maggie Chalmers, Lillian Jones (Rudy), Linda Williams (Isaiah), Callie Brent and Billie Ruth Carole; uncles, Odis Laster, Earnest Lee Laster, Bobby Burrow, Jerry Laster (ReNee), George Jack- son, Sr., Curtis Lemons, Jr., James Sims (Gloria), James Johnson (Mary), C. W. Sims (Katie) and Clarence Sims (Carolyn); godbrothers, Johnny Alessi and Melvin Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Kim G. BROTHER ROBERT JACKSON, JR.
Brother Robert Jackson, Jr. of Tampa passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Funeral services will be con- ducted Saturday, September 24, 10 a. m. at Highland Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 3410 E. North Street, with Rev- erend Dr. Julius L. Wynn, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Interment will be Monday, September 26,2016at11a.m.atthe Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Brother Robert Jackson, Jr. was a native of Greens- boro, Florida and a resident of Tampa for many years. Robert was educated in the public schools of Gadsden and Hillsborough Counties and was a graduate of Bran- don High School, Class of 1973.
He was a faithful member of Highland M. B. Church where he taught the Men’s Sunday School Class for a time and played the drums. He was employed for several years with the VA Hospital until changing jobs. His last job was with West Care, Inc., for 5 years where he assisted young men who were trying to turn their lives around. Robert served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Robert Lee Jackson, Sr.
He will always be cher- ished in the memory of: his devoted mother, Oralene Jackson-Alexander; three un- cles, Horace Thurmon of De- troit, MI, Willie Thurman and Deacon James Thurman (Thelma) of Tampa; several cousins; the 79th Street friends and many others of Progress Village, the Pastor and members of Highland M. B. Church; godsister, Almeta and husband, Joe; godbroth- ers, Grady Snell, Jr. and Sylvester Snell.

MS. GWENDOLYN WOODARD
On Saturday, September 17, 2016, God called Ms. Gwen- dolyn Woodard home. She is now at peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, Septem- ber 24, 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of West Tampa, 1302 N. Willow Avenue, Reverend Ray- ford Harper, Pastor, Reverend Anthony L. Rivers, officiating, with Reverend Fred L. Gilbert, eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Gwendolyn Woodard was born on November 2, 1940, in Tampa. Gwendolyn graduated from Middleton High School in Tampa, Class of 1960. She for- merly worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the Pontiac School Dis- trict and at Canterbury on The Lake, Pontiac MI. She was mar- ried to the late Chesley Woodard, Sr. and to this union, 3 beautiful children were con- ceived: Chesley Jr., Bruce and Regina.
In the latter months, Gwen- dolyn relocated to Pontiac and became a devout member of Monument of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor, Rev- erend James Keys.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Amanda Gilbert; three sis- ters, Lucille Woodard, Nellie Clemons and Helen Jackson; three brothers, Johnnie, Ralph and Joseph Gilbert, Jr. and hus- band, Chesley Woodard, Sr.
Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Chesley Woodard, Jr., Bruce Woodard of Pontiac, MI and Regina Woodard of Macomb, MI; one sister, Barbara Grant of Bronx, NY; one adopted brother, Pastor Fred L. Gilbert (Vanassa) of Mobile, Alabama; nieces, Mother Amanda Barnes, Barbara Ann Singleton (Donald), Carolyn Gilbert (For- rest), Gwendolyn Rivers (Robert), Annie Thorton, Davi- drena Sanders, Marva Hair (Zemmer) and Brittany Hair; nephews, Ronald Woodard, Taft (Schooloo) Woodard, Jr., Elder Michael Woodard (Angie), Reverend Edwin Woodard, Floyd Rivers, Jr. (Wanda), Larry Rivers, Sr., Reginald Clemons, Willie Hop- kins, Jr. (Rose), Isaac Jackson, William Jackson, Allen Jack- son, Ralph Jackson (Doris), Charles (TC) Hair, and Harold Stoney; a host of grand nieces and nephews along with a lot of other relatives and friends.

MR. ROBERT PIERCE BLOUNT, SR.
Mr. Robert Pierce Blount, Sr., age 98, passed peacefully on September 16, 2016, at his resi- dence while under the care of Hospice with his wife and his daughter (caregiver) by his side.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 11 a. m. at Holsey Tem- ple C. M. E. Church, 3729 N. 15th Street, Tampa, with Rev. Anita Williams, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force. Inter- ment will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11 a. m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL.
Mr. Blount was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Rosa Blount; son, James A. Blount; sisters, Roberta, Burnestine, Lestina, Ruby and Idonia; brothers, Hubert and Foster.
Robert is survived by: his lovely wife, Gracie; children, Robert P. Blount (Gloria) of At- lanta, Jo Ann Blount, Edward Blount, Sheila Blount and Stevenson Blount (Rhonda), all of Tampa; grandchildren, Robby Johnson, Robert P. Blount, III (Kimberly), Susie L. Blount, Va-
lencia Blount, Artaveus, all of Tampa, Syrita Robinson (Christo- pher) of Baltimore, Tamra Walts (Earl) of Atlanta and Whitney C. Blount of Atlanta; great grandchil- dren, Niconna, Zuri, Keith Walts all of Atlanta, Robert Pierce Blount, IV of Tampa, Stevenson Blount, Jr. of Tampa, Elana and Christopher Robinson both of Bal- timore; step-son, Altona Cum- mings (Linda); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert was the son of Robert and Rosa Blount born on May 29, 1918 in Hancock County, Georgia. He was united in holy matrimony to Gracie Bell.
Mr. Blount was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran. After re- turning from the war he worked as a construction technician with the 316th Army Air Force Base Unit in Tampa. Mr. Blount received an honorable discharge from the Army Air Force.
He later worked for Mayflower Bondage Moving and Storage and continued working there after their name changed to Bekins Moving and Storage. Mr. Blount later retired after 38 years of serv- ice. After his retirement he worked for Meals on Wheels, Nicks Warehouse and delivered flyers in the community.
Robert was a Christian and loved serving and talking about the Lord. He joined Holsey Tem- ple C. M. E. Church in 1949 and served faithfully and dutifully as a member. Mr. Blount was also very active in his church and served as past President of the Steward Board, Trustee Board, Pentecostal Choir, Choir Union and Class Leader.
There will be a viewing Friday, September 23, 2016, from 5 – 8 p. m. with the family receiving friends in the chapel from 6 – 7 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at ap- proximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.
