AIKENS
MRS. LENA MAE POWELL BARKER
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Lena Mae Powell Barker of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday, Au- gust 15th, 2017 will be held Sat- urday, August 26th 2 p. m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St., Rev. Larry Mouton, Jr., pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Memory Gardens Ceme- tery in Tallahassee, Florida.
Mrs. Lena Mae Powell Barker was born June 11, 1945 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Clarence Powell and the late Lessie Powell Conway. Lena was educated in the Leon County Public School System. She was a proud graduate of the original Lincoln High School, class of 1963. Follow- ing high school, she married Edward L. Barker and moved to Tampa, Florida.
Lena accepted Christ at an early age and continued to live her life for Christ. She was a member of New Hope Mission- ary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board Ministry and the Pas- tor’s Aide Committee. Lena was a retired employee for Walter Industries, Inc., where she worked as a pension ana- lyst for 38 years. She was an active member of the Wood- land Terrace Golden Stars and a former member of the Urban League Guild and Red Hat So- ciety.
Lena leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved daugh- ter, Kimberly E. Thomas (Paris); a grandson, Kobe Newton; two sisters, Winifred C. Henderson and Patricia A. Falana (Andrew); a brother, Michael V. Powell (Sally); and a host of family and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 25th from 5 - 8 p. m. The family will receive friendsfrom6-7p.m.The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Satur- day for the service.

MRS. CAROLYN MOORE VALDEZ
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Carolyn Moore Valdez of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 will be held Saturday, Au- gust 26th, 11 a. m. at Revelation Community M. B. Church, 7225 E. Chelsea St., Dr. Rev. Gregory B. Robinson, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Carolyn was born December 16, 1953 in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Predent and Willie Mae Moore, Sr. Carolyn graduated high school in Wilmington, Delaware. She continued her education at University of Wilmington Delaware, Wilm- ington, Delaware, Hillsborough Community College, Tampa, Florida and University of South Florida, Tampa. She retired from the State of Florida, De- partment of Children and Fam- ilies. Carolyn was a member of Revelation Community M. B. Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Predent and Willie Mae Moore, Sr.; grand- parents, Jim and Leola Jackson Bell; siblings, Elizabeth Moore Gibson, Hazel Denise, and Johnny Moore; and mother-in- law, Vellena Valdez.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Raymond Valdez, Sr.; children, Kimberly Pierre (Jean Raynold), Ft. Myers, FL, Brittany, Carlos (Christine), and Raymond Valdez, Jr., all of Tampa; grand- children, Alanna and Jaiden Valdez, Josiah, Amos Pierre, Carianna, Carlos, Jr., Carissa, and Kanisha Valdez; siblings, John D. Warren, Rufus Moore (Linda), Mary Louise Moore, Amanda Moore Sanders, Melvin, Dorothy, Keith, Ken- neth, and Predent Moore, Jr. Mildred Williams (Eddie), Gary Moore (Tina), Lisa Gail Moore (Jack), Corey Moore, Gloria Murphy and Sheryl Clark, all of Tampa; father-in-law, Frank Valdez, Sr.; brothers and sis- ters-in-law, Frankye (Jaudon), Frank, Jr., Tony (Sandra), Cin- derella, Alphonso, Valerie, and Angela Valdez, Lorraine Williams and Loretta Robinson (Dr. Rev. Mr. Samuel M. Scott, 74, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on August 10, 2017.
He leaves to cherish his memories: 2 daughters, Kim- berly Reisenberg, and Kecia Williams; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Leola Borders and Wanda Solomon; 7 brothers, Willie Scott, Carnell Scott, Law- erance Scott, Rudolph Scott, Ivory Solomon, Boise Solomon, Jr. and Michael Solomon.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Samuel Scott will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, 11 a. m. at Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, 1902 West LaSalle Street, Tampa, Florida 33607. The interment will follow on Monday at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave) at 10:30 a. m. in Bushnell, Florida.
The viewing will be Friday, August 25, 2017 at Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church from 5-7 p. m., and one hour prior to services. Fam- ily and friends are asked to as- semble at Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church to form the processional at 10:30 a. m. All floral arrange- ments are to be delivered at the church on Friday.
The repast will be at the home of Mrs. Leola Borders, 5311 East 20th Ave., Tampa, Florida.

MR. LAWRENCE ‘RED EYE BUD’ DANIELS, JR.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Lawrence “Red Eye Bud” Daniels, Jr., who passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11 a. m. at Faith Temple M. B. Church, 2916 E. Orient Road, Tampa 33619, Dr. Eric E. Campbell, Pastor, with Apostle Anthony J. Williams, Star of Faith II Ministries, Pas- tor, eulogist. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Mr. Daniels was born and raised in Tampa, FL on June 24, 1961 to the late Lawrence Daniels, Sr. and Etta Mae Daniels.
“Red Eye Bud,” as he was affectionately called, was pre- ceded in death by: his former wife, Shirley Daniels; broth- ers, Elton “Man” Campbell and Calvin “Twin” Daniels.
“Red Eye Bud” was a happy-go-lucky person with a big heart, who loved to joke and talk plenty of trash; he had no filter so what came up just came out his mouth. He loved his family and had a great rela- tionship with his nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly as Uncle Bud, as we called him. He was a profes- sional roofer with George Har- ris Roofing Company for many years until an accident oc- curred which caused him to be disabled.
He is survived by: his lov- ing mother, Etta Mae Daniels; wife, Chanel Holloway; and siblings, Rosetta Chatman (Joseph), Joyce Daniels (Joe), Belinda Haggins (Otis), Minis- ter Alvin Daniels (Jeanette), Leroy Daniels (Robin) and Jerome Haggins (Cheryl).
He leaves to cherish his love and memories: a daugh- ter, LaShawn Reynolds (Stan- ley); step daughters, Shemeka and Tawquinta Chavis; grand- daughter, Shantecka Chavis; and 4 other grandkids, 8 step grandkids, and 1 great grand- son and 1 great granddaugh- ter; nieces, Latonya Banks (Temanuel), April, Sheritta, Carla, Danielle and Joenetha; nephews, Michael, Larry and Daryl; special friends, Ivey Davis and Tiffany, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks and recognition to TGH and Kindred Hospital South.
Visitation for Mr. Daniels will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5-8 p. m. at Integrity Funeral Services, 3822 E. 7th Ave. Tampa 33605. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at 10:45 a. m.

Ms. Jenetta Brown of Tampa passed away Friday, Au- gust 11, 2017. Ms. Jenetta Brown was a na- tive of Perry, Florida and a res- ident of Tampa for many years. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was employed as a Child- care Teacher at Wonderland Day Care Center. Ms. Brown was a member of Life Changing Bible Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Geral- dine Brown; two devoted daughters, Veronica Brown Lee (Deoon) and Demetrie Hunter Johnson (Sherwin); one son, Charles Dozier (Fawn); special friend, Johnny Ivory; brothers, William Brown (Chanell), John Young (Linda), Zackery Young, Larry Brown, Bryan Collins and James White (Carolyn); grand- children, Deondria, Jayla, Le’Chelle, Sherwin, Jr., Don- tavious, Demetric, Chardae, Taniya, Charles, Jr., Tamaela, Kyrie, Xavier, Shamyia, Sher- man, Jahari, Tatiyana; great- grandchildren, Dysani, Jorge, Jr., Caleb, Kyree, and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
