MRS. ETHEL W. ROGERS
Mrs. Ethel W. Rogers of 1620 North Lois Avenue, Tampa, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Memorial services will be con- ducted on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at 2 p. m. at Mt. Calvary SDA Church, 4902 N. 40th Street, Tampa, FL, with Pas- tor Curtis Crider, officiating.
Mrs. Rogers was a native and resident of Tampa for 87 years. She attended Hillsbor- ough County Public Schools and was a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Tech- nical College. She was a faith- ful member of Mt. Calvary SDA Church, Tampa, FL. Mrs. Rogers retired from the Hills- borough County Public School System as a teacher in 1992.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Karon (George) Dean, Tonia (Robert) Watkins, and Vale- ria (Steve) Barkley; her son- in-law Esper (Alicia) Barkley; her grandchildren, Cilicia Nicole (Terrance) Miley, Corey (Brandace) Dean, Keena, Shelby, Morris, Al- leyan, Bree and Raquel; her great- grandchildren, Ebonye and Antwuan, Jr., and their mother, Tamara, Marquese, Keenan and Myron; and her great, great-grandson, Keiyon (affectionately known as GG); her sister, Gertrude Burney; and sisters-in-law, Trudie Taylor, Ethel Stone, Evelyn Cabrerra and Eloyce Malveaux; a host of nephews and nieces; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

ELDER MARY HELEN BROWN
Homegoing Service for Elder Mary Helen Brown will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 2 p. m., at St. John Cathedral, 3401 E. 25th Avenue, Tampa, FL. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Elder Brown worked with the Hillsborough County Health Department at Lee Davis Health Clinic over 15 years. She decided to retire to assist her husband build his dream of owning his own business. Elder Brown be- came the Vice President of Joseph Brown, Jr. Construc- tion, Incorporated. As the busi- ness grew she decided to return to the workforce again which launched a new chapter in her life, while continuing to fulfill her duties with Brown Con- struction. She worked for the Hillsborough County Public School System in the Elemen- tary area as a Teachers’ Assis- tant. She retired once again after 15 years of service and grooming numerous young lives.

MRS. VERA NASH FLOYD
A Celebration of Life Service for Vera Nash Floyd of Tampa, FL who transitioned from earth to glory on Friday morning, Au- gust 18, 2017, will be held on Sat- urday, August 26, 2017, at 11 a. m., at Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2313 E. 27th Ave., Bishop Matthew Williams, General Board Member, Presid- ing Prelate, Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida Pastor, of- ficiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Vera Floyd was born on February 8, 1935, to the late Manuel Nash and the late Stella Kendrick Nash in Gadsden County, Florida. She moved to Tampa in 1953 and made Tampa her home. Vera was employed by Tampa General Hospital for over 26 years and retired as a Nurse’s Aide.
She was preceded in death by: spouses, Sammie Hayes and Jack Floyd; three of her eight children, George Huff, Jr., Re- nardo Nash, Sr. and Delores Huff Lewis; and her dear sis- ter/friend, Mother Mattie Gaines Mills.
Mrs. Vera was a servant of God working out her journey on this side from St. Paul Temple COGIC and later moving her membership to Full Gospel COGIC, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and Church Mother and was
