WILSON
PASTOR DERRICK L. ASHLEY
A Homegoing Celebration for Pastor Derrick L. Ashley will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 p. m. at Emmanuel Church of Seffner, 6450 County Road 579, Seffner, Florida, Sen- ior Pastor Jesse H. Smalley, with Pastor Elvis Piggott, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
Derrick Lewis Ashley was born on May 2, 1969 in Miami, Florida, to Isaiah Ashley and Marvette Hayes. He was educated in the public school system of Dade County. He pursued a culi- nary career, later opening his business, Ashley Kitchen and Catering. When he wasn’t work- ing, he spent his free time doing what he loved most, firing up the grill, watching sports, fishing, boating and raising his grand- children.
Pastor Ashley was a hard- working, devoted Christian. Al- though, he had a deep profound love for his drums, he chose to dedicate his life to the church and community through preaching and outreach programs. This is where he dedicated his time serv- ing as Pastor at Power in Praise Outreach Ministries for over a decade.
Pastor Ashley a beloved son, father, loving grandfather and devoted husband was called to his eternal resting home on Sep- tember 6, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his father, Isaiah Ashley.
Pastor Ashley is survived by: his loving wife of 22 years, De- siree Tillman Ashley; children, Andrea Ashley, Darricka Ashley, Charlesha Causey (Frankie), Katherine Tillman, Tatonisha Tillman, Jaimyah Williams, Eddie Wilder, Jr. and Eric Wilder; a host of grandchildren; mother, Marvette Hayes; sib- lings, Wylene Ashley (James), Yuddon Biassou (Jamie), Rashad Ashley (Lawanda), Xavier Lewis, Sean Ashley, Travis Ashley, Sa- tara Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, September 16, 2022 from 3:00- 8:00 p.m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home. Due to the current CDC restrictions; we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final re- spect. For your convenience and safety, we have extended our vis- itation hours.

     ELDER EUGENE JOHNSON
Elder Eugene Johnson, Pas- tor Emeritus of the historic Saint Annis Primitive Baptist Church of DeLand, Florida, and a longtime resident of Hillsbor- ough County, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sep- tember 9, 2022.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Saint Annis Primitive Baptist Church, 502 S. Orange Avenue, DeLand, FL 32720.
A Visitation will be on Fri- day, September 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Elder Johnson was born in Havana, Florida to the late William and Ezella Johnson on April 8, 1942. He was educated in the public schools of Gads- den County, graduating in 1960 from Carter-Parramore High School in Quincy. He attended Florida A&M University in Tal- lahassee and later moved to Hillsborough County, where he graduated from Southern Bap-
tist Seminary in Tampa and was a dedicated employee of Swift Premium and Unisource until his retirement.
Elder Johnson accepted Christ on January 9, 1970, at the New Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Tampa, under the pastorate of Elder R. H. Howard.
In 1980, Elder Johnson was licensed as an associate minister at New Salem, and in December 1986, he was called to pastor the Saint Annis Primitive Baptist Church in DeLand, Florida. On February 23, 2014, after 27 years of faithful service, Elder John- son officially retired as Pastor of St. Annis.
Elder Johnson was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Ezella Johnson; siblings, Erma Lou Brown, Clifford John- son, Beulah Johnson, Solomon Johnson, Willie G. Johnson, Eu- nice Bukine, Lillie Jean Strawter, Geneva Baker, Leola Johnson, and James Johnson; and son, Pastor Tony Jenkins.
He leaves to cherish his fond memory: his loving and devoted wife, Nekeva Johnson; children, Reginald Johnson, Sr., Cheryl Johnson Reed (Edward), Veron- ica Johnson, Lennard Jenkins (Letitisha), Virgil Johnson (Suzette), Aldreshia Boykin, Andre Boykin, Jr., Jumetris An- derson, and Everett Hodge, III; 24 grandchildren,
Reginald, Brittany, Chervon- ica (Phillip), Shantana, Cadedra, Veaundriss, Virgil, Valicia, Vaniece, Vanekea, Valencia, An- tonio, Artaveus, Kasha, Tiffany, Candi, Jamari, Nekera, Jer- maine, Khalil, Ayden, Julianna, Keloni, and Treasure; 36 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; mother-in-law, Betty Mouling; sisters-in-law, Tonya Hamilton-Fulton, Pamela Reeves, Lashondra Williams, and April Hamilton; brother-in- law, Laurise Hamilton, III (Lakelia); godchildren, Elder Bruce and Martina Strange; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving and devoted friends.

MR. BOBBY GENE GADSON
Retired Master Sergeant Bobby Gene Gadson passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Mr. Gadson was born March 15, 1948, in Colquitt, Georgia to John L. and Avella Miller Gadson. He ac- cepted Christ at an early age at Springfield M. B. Church in Colquitt. After graduating from Howard W. Blake High School, he joined the U. S. Army. He served his country faithfully in Granada, Vietnam, Germany, and Korea and was a master paratrooper/airborne ranger and received the Purple Heart in Vietnam. After 20 plus years, he received an honorable dis- charge and accepted a position at Lockheed Martin in California be- fore coming back to Tampa to settle down. The Tampa Bay Bucs and the Rays were his favorite teams and he was a 32nd degree Master Mason that enjoyed listening to old school music.
He was preceded in heaven by: his parents, John L. and Avella Gad- son; and brother, Ivory O. Gadson, Sr.

Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Marlene B. Boldware will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Center For Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Av- enue, Tampa, Florida, Senior Pastor Dr. Mark T. Jones, Sr., with Pastor Rodney Norton, Offi- ciating.
Marlene B. Boldware, 84, of Tampa died unexpectedly on Sep- tember 8, 2022, at Tampa Gen- eral Hospital. She was born November 7, 1937, in Newark, New Jersey, to the parentage of James Benson and Priscilla Thompson Benson. She moved to Tampa, Florida at the age of 8 and was raised by her aunt, Inez Taylor, who she acknowledged as her only mother.
Marlene attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School and other schools in Hillsborough County. She met and later married Earl H. Boldware, Sr., while he was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. She traveled alongside her husband and six children while Earl served in the United States Air Force living in various states and Puerto Rico. They settled in Tampa, where she called home until she transitioned.
Marlene was known for her great sewing abilities, as she was self-taught and could create fash- ions from patterns she made. She was very creative and loved to decorate. Her draperies and table settings were second to none. She was an Eastern Star and a great cook. Ms. Boldware worked in Retail Sales until her early retirement due to health reasons.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, James Benson and Priscilla Thompson Benson; her aunt/mother, Inez Taylor; sister, Doris Benson; brother, Arvin McIvery; her oldest son, Morris W. Boldware and her oldest daughter, Janice W. Boldware Tillman.
Her memories will be forever remembered by: her children, Michael L. Boldware and wife, Deborah, Earl H. Boldware, Jr., June L. Boldware Jones and Diahn M. Boldware Davis; 18 grandchildren; 51 great-grand- children; 10 great-great grand- children and a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
