James Harden Reportedly Offered $200 Million Contract by Adidas
Cavs Will Re-Sign Tristan Thompson, J.R. Smith
Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith
The Cavaliers have taken care of the bulk of their offseason signings. LeBron James and Kevin Love both re-upped as expected, and the team retained Iman Shumpert and Matthew Dellavedova, as well.
But two key members of last season's Eastern Conference champion squad remain un- signed.
Tristan Thompson is a re- stricted free agent, and consid- ering the fact that he shares an agent with LeBron, his staying in Cleveland was assumed by many to be a foregone conclu- sion. J.R. Smith is a bit more of a wildcard, given his status as an unrestricted free agent. But most insiders expect him to re- turn to the Cavaliers, too, once the team knows how much it will have to pay Thompson, and how much left it will have to spend on J.R.'s next deal.
BEAUTY UNLIMITED
ERIKA
This week’s Beauty Unlimited feature is Erika. As- piring to be the best she can be, Erika is not afraid to be daring, and is willing to make the sacrifices neces- sary to be successful. Erika never runs out of energy, and never backs away from an opportunity. This young lady is definitely going places, and we appreci- ate her allowing us to feature her as this week’s Beauty Unlimited feature.
James Harden is in for some good luck in the form of a massive financial windfall. Adidas has offered the Hous- ton Rockets guard a 13-year, $200 million endorsement contract to leave rival Nike.
Harden's contract with Nike recently expired without an extension, opening an op- portunity for its competitor to pounce. If Nike does not match the deal in the next week, Adidas would likely use Harden as its chief endorser in the coming years, a role originally intended for Bulls

Jason Pierre-Paul Texts Coach To Say 'I'm Good; I'll Be Back'
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- If there's one member of the New York Giants organization who's up-to-date on the condi- tion of Jason Pierre-Paul, it's his position coach.
Giants defensive line coach Robert Nunn has been in regular contact with Pierre- Paul throughout the offseason -- before the July 4 fireworks accident that severely dam- aged Pierre-Paul's right hand and since. Nunn texted with Pierre-Paul just Friday morning, in fact.
"When I've talked to him, we've talked more about where he is from a mental standpoint -- just texted back and forth to let him know we're here for him, whatever he needs," Nunn said before Giants prac-

tice Friday. "And his response has been, 'Coach, I'm good. I want to get myself right and I'll be back.'"
After practice, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he ex- pected he would speak with Pierre-Paul sometime soon.
49er LB Arrested In California
Oft-troubled linebacker Aldon Smith of the San Francisco 49ers was arrested Thursday night on hit and run, driving under the influence and vandalism charges, ac- cording to police in Santa Clara, California.
Smith was booked into the Santa Clara County jail and held on $26,000 bond before his release Friday. Authorities said they would provide more information later Friday morning.
This is the 25-year-old Smith's third arrest on suspi- cion of drunken driving since entering the league in 2011 as a first-round draft pick out of Missouri.
Smith was arrested on sus- picion of DUI in January 2012, a charge that was later reduced to reckless driving. Later that year, he faced three felony weapons charges stemming from a June 2012 party at his home. Police said several shots

were fired, two partygoers were injured and Smith was stabbed. Smith pleaded not guilty, and the weapons charges were later reduced.
Smith was arrested and charged with DUI again after a car accident in September 2013. He voluntarily entered rehab and missed five games that season. In July 2014, Smith was sentenced to 11 days of work release for that DUI in Santa Clara.
