Straight Outta Compton #1 For Second Week
Cast of Straight Outta Compton
Ciara To Take Center Stage At U. S. Women’s Open
Ride Along 2 Trailer Released; In Theaters In January
“ Straight Outta Comp- ton” was number 1 at the box office for the second week in a row and is already over the $100 million mark. Make no mistake. It’s a bonafide smash hit.
The estimated take for this weekend is looking right around $26.75 million. The film has brought in $115.00 million domestically. To really understand how significant this
is consider that a couple of big- budget summer films like “To- morrowland” and “Terminator,” still haven’t reached $100 million.
Also, if estimates hold, “Straight Outta Compton” will help give Universal Pictures its 13th weekend on top of the do- mestic box office, coming on the heels of recent tent-pole successes such as “Jurassic World” and “Minions.”
CIARA
Ciara will bless another big stage. The Grammy-Award winning R&B artist has been tapped to perform at the up- coming U.S. Open Women's Fi- nals.
"We're thrilled to have Grammy-Award winning per- former @Ciara singing prior to the #usopen women's final on Sept. 12!," confirms U.S. Open Tennis.
The performance comes on the heels of Ciara's recent showing at the MLB All-Star Game. She also recently wrapped her successful #Jackie tour with a second leg to be an- nounced soon.
T.I. Reportedly Owes $4 Million In Taxes
T.I.
No matter how much money they may flaunt, celebrities usually become financial vic- tims of Uncle Sam. Owing large sums of money to the IRS is very common especially in the Hip Hop industry, and this time, T.I.’s the their target. The Daily Mail has reported that the government has placed a tax lien on the Atlanta rapper, which would acquire all his as- sets and property if he doesn’t pay up. The lien states that T.I. owes the government $1.5 million and a little over $3 mil- lion dollars for unpaid taxes in both 2012 and 2013.
Although T.I. was supposed to pay his debts before the end of July, the whopping balance still remains unpaid.
Universal Pictures released its first trailer for the comedy sequel “Ride Along 2” on last Thursday.
In the film, James (Ice Cube) and Ben (Kevin Hart) must travel to Miami to gather information on a dan- gerous new drug supplier named Antonio Pope (Ben- jamin Bratt). However, they have to make sure that their police work doesn’t keep Ben from his wedding.
The film also stars Olivia Munn, Ken Jeong and Tika Sumpter. Tim Story re- turned to direct, with two of the original’s screenwriters, Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, on script. Ice Cube is also pro- ducing under his Cube Vision
banner. The original film was a box office success for Univer- sal, grossing $153 million against a $25 million budget.
La La Anthony Denies Cheating Rumors
Reports: Terrance Howard And His Wife Secretly Divorced
Carmelo and La La An- thony are fighting back against claims she cheated with a rapper by reuniting in Puerto Rico this weekend.
The couple, who strongly deny claims by rapper Maino’s baby-mama that he and La La had a liaison, were together on the island Friday night after La La flew out to join Melo in a show of marital solidarity.
The Knicks star has been in San Juan, where he co-owns soccer team Puerto Rico FC and is hosting a weekend-long fund-raiser at the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort to benefit his Carmelo Anthony Founda- tion.
The actress was accused by Maino’s ex, Patrice E, on Instagram.
La La responded by posting a video of herself with Carmelo lip-syncing to Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill’s “All Eyes on You” and wrote, “All eyes on us,” fol- lowed by a heart emoji.
Well known VJ and actor, La La and NBA star Carmelo An- thony.
She and Maino both denied they were having an affair.
La La brushed the rumor off as “crazy,” sources said. “She is so focused on her work and acting right now,” said one. The former MTV VJ will appear in Spike Lee’s up- coming film “Chiraq,” and she is a regular on A&E series “Un- forgettable.”
Before La La’s arrival in Puerto Rico, a spy says Melo has been spending most of his days training in the resort gym.
Another one bite’s the dust. Reportedly, Terrence Howard and his wife Mira Pak of two years, have called it quits. According to New York Daily News, the Empire star and Mira divorced July 27th.
The news was revealed as a separate court proceeding with second wife Michelle Ghent ended with closing arguments. Divorce paperwork obtained by The News revealed Pak, 38, filed for the secret split back in March, when she was pregnant with the couple’s first child. This summer, Ter- rence and Mira welcomed a new baby boy named Qirin Love, which was a nod to a mythical creature called the qilin from Chinese culture which is said to appear before

a time of prosperity or seren- ity. This was the couple’s first child together. Terrence has three other children – Aubrey, 21, Hunter, 19, and Heaven, 17.
Dr. Dre Releases Apology To All The Women He Hurt
Even with the biggest movie and (rap) album in the country, there was no way Dr. Dre could continue to mosey around like he didn’t hear the mounting criticism that his N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, intentionally chose to omit his documented do- mestic violence cases against women from the final cut.
In a new statement to The New York Times–a relative contrast to the vague commen- tary he gave Rolling Stone–Dr. Dre apologizes in the “to whom it may concern” format, acknowledging the crimes he committed, presumably to- wards journalist Dee Barnes and ex-girlfriend and mother of one of his sons, Michel’le.
“Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life,” the iconic producer began in a

statement. “However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.”
“I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has for- ever impacted all of our lives.”
