Station, with several gunshot wounds.
Detectives immediately began developing leads in the case.
The investigation led to Bowden being identified as the suspect in the homicide and a warrant for first degree murder and felon in posses- sion of a firearm was issued for his arrest.
Bowden and the victim
FREDERICK BELL
were known to each other, and this was not a random act. In addition, a criminal history check revealed Bow- den has ten prior felony con- victions.
A tip from Crimestoppers led detectives to an address located in Hillsborough County, where Bowden was staying and taken into custody. His bond was set at $510,000.
Detectives Arrest Man For Killing Victim With One Punch
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a man involved in an alterca- tion that left a man dead.
On September 27, 2022, at 6:35 p.m., Hillsborough County Fire Rescue received a call about an unresponsive man found lying in the park- ing lot of the Chevron Gas Station, 402 S. U. S. Highway 41, in Ruskin.
When Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived, they transported the uniden- tified man to Tampa General Hospital, with an apparent injury to the back of his head. He died a few hours later.
Through investigative means, detectives were able to determine what happened leading up to finding the un- responsive man. On Septem- ber 27, 2022, at approximately 6 p. m., both
RODOLFO REGINO, JR.
the victim and another man showed up in different vehi- cles.
After talking in the park- ing lot, the suspect walked up to the victim and punched him one time in the face, causing him to fall back- ward onto the pavement. The suspect walked to his car and drove away from the scene.
Police did not say what the altercation between the two men was about.
An autopsy by the Hills- borough County Medical Ex- aminer’s Office determined the cause of death to be a homicide due to a blunt im- pact to the head.
On October 3, 2022, de- tectives identified and ar- rested 48-year-old Rodolfo Regino, Jr., and he now faces several charges, includ- ing manslaughter.
Hillsborough County
Sheriff Chad Chronister
said, “It’s sad to see the loss of a person solely because emotions were not kept in check. The suspect admitted to our investigators that he knew the victim, had known him for years, and had always had issues and fights with him in the past.”
