Janelle Monae Lands Acting Role
JANELLE MONAE
Janelle Monae’s career stock continues to rise! Not only has she launched her own Won- daland Records label, she’s also launching an acting career.
VIBE reveals the “Electric Lady” singer has been cast in the upcoming movie, Moon- light, a film version of Tarell McCraney’s play, In Moon- light Black Boys Look Blue. The premise of the play/film focuses on a young Miami man trying to make it during the "war on drugs" era.
However, no word yet on what role Monae will play. Moonlight is financed by A24, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertain- ment company, the company behind 12 Years A Slave, and scheduled to hit theaters in Fall 2016.
‘Save By The Bell’ Star Is Being Threatened With Sex Tape Release
Lark Voohries and soon to be ex husband Jimmy Green.
There's more trouble brew- ing for former Saved By The Bell star Lark Voorhies, who filed for divorce from music en- gineer Jimmy Green last week.
The 41-year-old actress' es- tranged husband is claiming he has an explicit sex tape of the couple and is hawking it around to the highest bidder..
The website reported Tues- day that Green is 'bragging' about the homemade tape and hoping to make a lot of money from it. Apparently the actress isn't denying that a sex tape ex- ists but claims her ex recorded it 'surreptitiously' and she had no idea that he was filming their intimate relations.
Green, however, is insist- ing that she knew about it all along.
Voorhies, who found fame as Lisa Turtle on the NBC sit- com that ran from 1989 to 1993, filed legal documents last week seeking to end her brief marriage.
Beyonce’s Dad Owes IRS $220G
Just two weeks after promot- ing his seven-hour seminar about getting into the music in- dustry, Mathew Knowles has been slapped with a hefty tax lien.
The Destiny’s Child creator and Beyoncé’s father owes the IRS a whopping $220,000 in back taxe. The unpaid amount is reportedly from 2013.
The site adds it’s not the 63- year-old’s first time owing big bucks to Uncle Sam — in fact, he’s owed a total of $1.4 million to the government.
Jill Scott, Tyrese, Baby- face, & New Edition will swing through four cities this holiday season for the second annual Holiday Jam Concert Series. Along with those four outstanding artists, Philly, D.C., Detroit, and Hampton, VA will also see the likes of SWV, Jazmine Sullivan, and Black Alley Band to
support.
The tour will kick off on No-
vember 28th in Philly and wrap up on Dec. 12 in Detroit, Michigan.
Shawn Gee of Maverick Management and Geoff Gor- don from Live Nation concep- tualized the idea, which is designed to elevate and cele- brate the genre of R&B.
MATHEW KNOWLES
It Is True: Halle Berry Is Getting A Divorce
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have reached the end of the line.
The couple is headed for di- vorce after just two years of marriage. They share a 2-year- old son named Maceo.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce,” the couple told Page Six in a joint statement. “We move forward with love and re- spect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children’s privacy, as we go through this difficult period.”
A month after Maceo en- tered the world, Martinez was involved in a brawl with Berry’s ex, model Gabriel Aubry, on Thanksgiving Day.

Aubry is the father of the ac- tress’ other child, 7-year-old Nahla.
According to TMZ, Berry, who filed for divorce, is not seeking joint or primary cus- tody of young Maceo, but in- stead is focused on doing what is in “the best interests of the child.”
Finally! Chris Brown And His Daughter’s Mom Settle On Joint Custody
In September, a Houston judge ruled in favor of Chris Brown to get joint custody of his 1-year-old daughter Roy- alty with his baby mama Nia Guzman. Now TMZ is re- porting that Brown and Guz- man have decided to share custody of their daughter.
Brown and Guzman met up to discuss once and for all the arrangements, and they came to the agreement to share custody. As opposed to joint custody, which focuses on the tasks of each parent separately from each other, shared custody will allow Brown and Guzman to have equal amounts of time with Royalty and make decisions

They have agreed on the pre- school Royalty will attend.
Suge Knight And Katt Williams Plead Not Guilty To Robbery
Suge Knight and Katt Williams
Former rap mogul Suge” Knight and comedian Katt Williams pleaded not guilty Tuesday to robbery charges filed against them after a celebrity photographer accused them of taking her camera last year.
The pair appeared briefly in a Los Angeles courtroom Tues- day and entered the pleas, which needed to be re-entered because a judge determined two weeks ago that they should stand trial for the September 2014 incident in Beverly Hills.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald S. Coen on Tuesday admonished Knight because the Death Row Records co-founder had held up a sign conveying a happy
birthday message to his son for cameras during his last court appearance two weeks ago.
Knight’s attorney denies the Death Row Records co- founder was involved in taking photographer Leslie Red- den’s camera last year.
Attorney Thomas Mesereau said Oct. 13 that threats Knight made toward Redden were attempts to get her to not shoot photos of his
young son.
Redden recorded a verbal
confrontation with Knight on a camera hanging from her neck, but the device did not capture the physical struggle over her professional camera.
