Miko Grimes, Wife Of Brent Grimes, Arrested In Sunlife Stadium Parking Lot
Brent Grimes and his wife Miko Grimes.
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The wife of Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes was arrested Sunday in the stadium parking lot shortly be- fore the team's loss to the Buf- falo Bills, and she hurt her right knee and arm in a con- frontation with police.
Miko Grimes faces charges of disorderly conduct, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence. According to a police report, Grimes was walking into ve- hicular traffic and was arrested after she disobeyed an officer's command to stop. She re- mained combative even after being handcuffed, police said.
Brent Grimes is a Pro Bowl cornerback, and his wife is well-known in South Florida thanks to her Twitter site. She offers frequent opinions about the Dolphins, their fans and the NFL and has nearly 11,000 followers.
According to police, Grimes ignored an order to stop and became belligerent and screamed profanities. She charged one officer while flail- ing her arms, and when an of- ficer grabbed her in a bear hug and threw her on the ground, Grimes kicked her feet and
tried to get up.
Grimes was handcuffed
and, once on her feet, head- butted an officer. She was then forced to sit on a police golf cart and continued to be com- bative until the cart reached a police station. Once there, she was treated for her injuries.
BEAUTY UNLIMITED
LAYTON
This week, Beauty Unlimited has chosen Layton as the feature. As the seasons change, so does the fea- tures, and Layton definitely fits the Beauty Unlimited profile. This young lady has all of the gifts to be very successful, and a will that won’t allow her to settle for anything but the best. Layton has a special quality about her, and it’s something she shares only with a chosen few. Congratulations to Layton as this week’s Beauty Unlimited feature.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Crashing into the end zone on a 3-yard run, superstar Adrian Peter- son dropped to his knees and lifted his arms to the sky. It was a familiar post-touchdown pose from a running back whose frequent visits to the end zone had been on a hiatus of nearly two years.
Starting his 100th career game mere hours after the birth of his son, Peterson scored his first touchdown since Nov. 24, 2013, in the sec- ond quarter of the Minnesota Vikings' game against the San Diego Chargerson Sunday. He added another touchdown, scoring on a 43-yard run in the third quarter to tie Randy
ADRIAN PETERSON
Moss for the second-most TDs in Vikings history. He finished the game with 126 yards on 20 carries in the Vikings' 31-14 vic- tory.
Giants Star Pierre-Paul’s Hand Still Does Not Look Good After Fireworks Accident
Photos of Jason Pierre-Paul were released Thursday.
New York Giants DE, Jason Pierre-Paul has fi- nally shown his hand to the world — and it doesn’t look good.
In shocking photos, obtained exclusively by the Daily News on Thursday, Pierre-Paul’s mangled right hand is com- pletely visible for the first time, with no large bandage obscuring the extensive dam- age. In the photos he is clearly missing his right index finger and has small bandages on his middle finger and thumb.
It’s impossible to tell if the thumb, as reported, is missing the tip. But it doesn’t appear that the hand has healed any- where near enough for the for- mer USF standout to return to lifting weights or doing foot- ball activities any time soon.
Still, the Giants haven’t ruled their unsigned “franchise player” out. And after taking a quick glance at the photos on Thursday, defensive end Robert Ayers said a JPP re- turn wouldn’t be a surprise at all.

Defense Vs. Murder Charges
Former running back Lawrence Phillips plans to use the money he receives as part of the NFL's concussion settlement with retired players to fund his legal defense against first-degree murder charges, the attorney repre- senting him in that lawsuit says.
Attorney Daniel S. Chamberlain told USA Today Sports that Phillips will receive an estimated $1.4 million from the concussion settlement. Chamberlain told USA Today that he aided Phillips in retaining Jesse Whitten as his defense attor- ney.
Whitten estimates the cost of Phillips' defense might cost as much as $200,000, ac- cording to USA Today.
Phillips, 40, was charged earlier this month in the death of his cellmate, 37-year-old Damion Soward, at Kern
Lawrence Phillips last played in the NFL in 1999, with the 49ers, one of three teams he played for in a brief profes- sional career.
Valley (California) State Prison in April. Officials deter- mined Soward was strangled. Phillips pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Sept. 15. T. Alan Rogers, the public de- fender who was assigned Phillips' case, told USA Today Sports earlier this month that he believes the ev- idence will show that acted in self-defense.
