ELDER ELLIOTT MCBRIDE, JR.
Elder Elliott McBride, Jr. of Tampa passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Satur- day, August 27, at 11 a. m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Bap- tist Church, 4202 W. Nassau Street, Reverend Dr. Linda C. Reese, Pastor, Reverend Dr. Marcia Turner officiating with Apostle James H. Howell, eulo- gist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Elder McBride was a native of Havana, FL and a resident of Tampa for 45 years. He was educated in the public schools of Gadsden County, Florida and retired as a Truck Driver. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and answered the call to Ministry. He served dili- gently at Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church until his demise.
Elder McBride was pre- ceded in death by: his parents, Elliott McBride, Sr. and Letha Pease Hines; stepfather, Jewell Hines; brothers, Johnny Hines and Jimmie Hines; aunts, Mandy Mathis and Artie Pen- nington; and uncle, Willie Pease.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 52 years, Cora C. McBride; stepmother, Vernell McBride; children, Jackie Eberhart and husband, Jeff, Vina McBride, Lynette Smiley, Patricia McBride, Ray- mond Smiley, Dinesta McBride, all of Tampa, FL, Ellis Simpson and Elroy Perkins, both of GA; grandchildren, Lakeshia McBride, Dominique Gilley, Javonni Gilley, Kevis McBride, Shacora McBride, Corey Norman and wife, Adri- ana, Alexandria Foxworth, Corey Foxworth, Kevin J. The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, August 26, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MS. E. DORIS BRYANT ‘MS. CANNEDY’
A celebration of life service for Ms. E. Doris Bryant, also known as “Ms. Cannedy,” will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL, Rev. Dr. Evan Burrows, Pastor with Rev. Lawrence Glover, officiating.
She was preceded in death by: parents, William Coleman and Ellen McLeod and granddaugh- ter, Teresina Edwards.
She leaves cherished memo- ries of her with: children, W. James Cannedy (Debra Jean), Vallejo, CA, Theodore “Ted” Cannedy (Ardréa) and Rita Bryant-Gainer; grandchildren, Liyanna Cannedy, Kiyanna Cannedy, Andre Burke, James J. Hart, III (Desiree), Brandi Timmons, Reese Gainer, Angela Adams, Jacquez Henderson; eight great-grandchildren, beloved cousin, Olivia Brooks (Virgil); a host of other cousins, dearest friend, Ethel Mae Gam- brell; Middleton Alumni, and many other relatives and friends.
Ms. Bryant was born on Janu- ary 24, 1925 in Tampa, FL. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a proud Middleton Tiger. She was employed by Afro Insurance, Blake H. S., Middle- ton H. S., Jefferson H. S. and re- tired from Hillsborough County Schools Accounts Payable De- partment in 1995.
Ms. Cannedy was best known as “Middleton’s Secretary” where she inspired many to reach for their dreams and im- pacted many young lives. She proudly served as a faithful member of First Baptist Church of College Hill accepting Christ at an early age under the guid- ance of Rev. Robinson. She served on various Usher Boards, Choirs, BTU, Jolly Sen- iors and was involved in many church activities.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Wilson Fu- neral Home 3000 N. 29th Street, from 5-8 p. m. with the family present to receive friends from 6-7 p. m. in the chapel.

Homegoing celebration serv- ice for Ms. Jennifer A. Charles of Tampa, who quietly departed this earthly life on August 18, 2016, will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 10 a. m. at Excit- ing Faith Alive Church, 5705 E. 32nd Avenue, Tampa, with Pastor Antonio R. PASTOR ERNEST NOBLEY NEWKIRK
On Friday, August 19, 2016 Pastor Ernest Newkirk slipped out of his mortal body and went to sleep in the arms of Jesus, to await the rest of his spiritual family’s arrival.
Homegoing service will be held Saturday, August 27th at 11 a. m. at St. John Cathedral, 3401 E. 25th Avenue, Tampa, with Pastor Tony Parker, offici- ating and Pastor Dwight Newkirk, eulogist. Inter- ment will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11 a. m. at Royal Palm North Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida.
As Pastor Ernest Newkirk transitioned home, he leaves behind: his wife, Angelita Troupe; a son, Eric Newkirk and his mother, Denise; a lov- ing sister, Luetwanda Kay (Okoye) Morgan; three broth- ers, Carl Newkirk, Maurice (Barbara), Dwight (Artest); 2 aunts, Lila and Celeste Newkirk; nieces and nephews, Sonya, Jacquez, Chanelle, Jarvis, Marquetta, Autrē, Okoye, Jr., Ajia, Ke- quan, DeShaun, Syncere, Jor- dan, and Kingston; his dog “Logan”, a host of cousins, friends and acquaintances, along with Marilyn (Love) Ver- non and his St. John Cathedral family.
Pastor Ernest Newkirk was the third child born to the union of the late Bishop Eddie and First Lady Audrey Newkirk, Jr. in St. Peters- burg, Florida. He attended the public schools of St. Peters- burg and was a graduate of Gibbs High School Class of 1969. He attended St. Peters- burg Junior College.
Pastor Ernest loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Friendship M. B. Church in St. Petersburg until his father ac- cepted the call to Pastor St. John Cathedral in Tampa. Pas- tor Ernest was later called to the ministry and served faithfully under his father and recently his brother, Pastor Dwight until his demise.
Pastor Ernest Newkirk served as the Superintendent for the family-owned E & A Con- crete Construction Company, a minority owned business in St. Petersburg, Florida for over 30 years. He and his brothers en- joyed great fellowship as they traveled and worked together throughout Florida. Upon leav- ing E & A, Pastor Ernest began to work for himself in the Con- crete Masonry and Lawn Ser- vice businesses; working up until the time of his illness.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5 – 8 p. m. with the family being presentfrom6–8p.m.atthe church. A wake service will be heldfrom7–8p.m.

MS. AUDREY F. NORMAN
Funeral service for Ms. Audrey F. Norman who went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2016 will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11 a. m. at St. John Pro- gressive M. B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco Street, Tampa, with Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pas- tor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Audrey was preceded in death by: James Davis; aunt, Anita Davis and maternal grandpar- ents, Calvin and Mary Norman.
She is survived by: her six chil- dren, Valeka Norman, Dontario Stephens, Darius Stephens, Orencia Miller, Jakari Edwards and Jakobe Edwards; grand- daughter, JaMari Stephens; lov- ing parents, Mary Norman Strange and Vincent Strange; surviving siblings, James Davis, Jr. and wife, Vincent Strange, II and wife, Dawn, Victoria Strange, Vicino Strange and Vanessa Strange; paternal grandmother, Martha Davis; uncles, Norris and wife, Ronald, Daryl, Donald Davis and wife; aunts, Sylvia Davis Walker (Ed) and April Davis; maternal uncles, Johnny C. Audrey F. Norman was born March 16, 1974. Audrey gradu- ated from Erwin Technical Insti- tute to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving Hillsbor- ough County. Audrey had a “You Can’t Stop Me” attitude. She ex- emplified strength for all those around her. Anything she set her mind to, with little to no effort, she would achieve it. She con- stantly walked in favor. She was a true fighter and great advocate for her loved ones.
