Former Microsoft CEO and current Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has beaten out Michael Jordan, Paul Allen, Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones to be named the richest person in sports — and he only needed $21.5 billion to do it.
Forbes recently released its list of the world’s wealthiest billionaires, with Ballmer as the richest team owner and 35th richest person in the world overall.
Other notables on the list are Carnival Cruise Lines CEO and Miami Heat owner Micky Arison (No. 6, $7.1 billion), multi-team owner Stan Kroenke (No. 7, $6.3 billion), New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft (No. 8,

That is good news for a team that is finally healthy after spending much of the season battling a succession of nagging injuries to half its roster.

James stamped his name in the Cavs' record books once again on Tues- day, passing Mark Price for the franchise lead in assists, dishing out his 4,207th while wearing a Cleveland uniform.
The 12-year veteran set the mark by finding James Jones for a 3-pointer with 10:14 remaining in the sec-
ond quarter of the Cavs' 127- 94 win over the Dallas Mav- ericks.
After tying Price in as- sists in the Cavs' 89-79 win over Phoenix on Saturday, James joked he was content staying tied with the former sharpshooter for good.
As Mayweather And Pacquiao
Prepare To Meet Face To Face,
Sparring Legends Grow
One of the ways you can always tell that a big fight is near is when the stories about the tremendous fears in spar- ring begin to surface.
And sure enough, we're hearing about all the damage that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are doing already in the gym as they get ready for their mega- bout on May 2 in Las Vegas. They'll meet the media on Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles, their only face-to- face appearance until fight week.
That, of course, means it's time for the stories to leak out about what is going on behind the closed doors. Both men have been tighter than nor- mal in allowing access and not nearly as many people are allowed in to watch sparring as is usually the case.
A CBS Sports report quoted Las Vegas-based pho-

tographer Chris Robinson about Mayweather's spar- ring escapades. May- weather reportedly knocked out one sparring partner and dropped another.
Floyd's doing his thing. He dropped one of the guys with a body shot.
As for Pacquiao, lead trainer Freddie Roach told Ring.com how impressed he was by Pacquiao's speed and power in the early stages of camp. Roach also told the site that it is clear to him that Pacquiao had been watch- ing film of Mayweather.
