Crime Woman Is Charged With Brother’s Murder
16-Year-Old Hurt During Drive-By Shooting
The teenager was shot last Friday while in the 3200 block of E. Diana Avenue. He is expected to recover.
    Police have arrested and charged a Tampa woman with her brother’s murder. The murder took place over the Memorial Day Weekend.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on May 31, 2022. Around 3 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 13000 block of Kain Palms Court, in reference to a discharge of a firearm call for service.
When deputies arrived, they located an adult man with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The male was transported to Tampa Gen- eral Hospital for care. He later died from his injuries.
As the investigation pro- gressed, detectives learned that the shooter, an adult
male, was at the location to meet up with Tat'yana Gas- ton, whom he had met on- line.
During the course of their meeting, another adult man,
who is known to Gaston, al- legedly attempted to rob the shooter at knifepoint, leading the victim to fire his weapon in self-defense.
For her involvement in the attempted robbery turned deadly shooting, Gas- ton is facing a charge of sec- ond-degree murder.
According to sources, the person shot during the al- leged robbery attempt was identified as Gaston’s brother, 18-year-old Jer- mon Jerome Kennard.
The shooting is still under investigation, so this case is active and open.
Last Friday afternoon, a teenager was shot in a drive- by shooting.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to the 3200 block of N. Diana Street, in refer- ence to the shooting shortly before 2 p.m. Upon arriving, they were told that a 16-year- old gunshot victim had been transported to a nearby hos- pital with a non-life threaten- ing gunshot wound to the arm.
During the investigation, witnesses describe seeing
gunshots coming from an oc- cupant of a newer model white Chevy Equinox. The suspect fled from the scene immediately after the shoot- ing. Witnesses also told police that the vehicle has tinted windows.
Detectives have not deter- mined what led to the shoot- ing.

Detectives are currently in- vestigating an unexplained death. The body was discov- ered in the Hillsborough River Saturday morning.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the body of an unidentified man was discovered floating in the Hillsborough River. Officers were dispatched to the area of Florida Avenue and River Shore Drive Saturday morn- ing. When the officers arrived at the location, they removed the man’s body.
Police have not released any additional information and the investigation is con- tinuing.
