You are not alone.
If you are living with a life-threatening illness.
If someone in your circle is near the end of life,
If you are grieving the death of someone close to you,
Hospice is here for you.
The death of someone we love can be the most challenging time in our life. This is uncharted territory for many of us. Often we are not sure what to say, do or know what help to ask for.
The Sunshine Coast Hospice Society has trained volunteers from Langdale to Egmont to support you, your family and your friends through the end-of-life and grief journey.
Sunshine Coast Hospice provides:
• One-to one companion for those who are palliative or grieving
• Respite to care givers for short periods of time
• Two Hospice rooms with space for companions to stay and an
adjoining family room leading to the garden
• Day and night companionship (vigil), as a person nears death,
may be available
• Grief support groups offered by our trained facilitators
• Threshold Bedside Singers offer gentle songs near the end of life
• A comprehensive library on death and bereavement
• Community education and outreach programs
Sunshine Coast Hospice Society is a charitable organization funded by the community and powered by a team of dedicated volunteers. Hospice is more than a place – it is a service that offers support, resources and compassionate palliative care to people and their families. The Society receives no regular government funding. Our programs and services depend completely on donations and the generosity of the public. Please consider making a donation to Sunshine Coast Hospice Society or including the Society in your estate planning.
