Tell us why it was important for you to be here today to address this wonderful
women’s conference.

I’m excited to be a part of Leading and Living Your Best Life sponsored by AARP.
This is a day of empowering and re-energizing women! I’m sharing my journey
through my career, reinvention and new book, Open Your Gifts: 22 Lessons on

Finding and Embracing Your Personal Power.

AARP has an initiative encourage those 50+ to Disrupt Aging. What exactly does
that mean?

• AARP is changing the conversation about age and aging in this country. Through
the Disrupt Aging Initiative, they’re helping people understand how we can all be
healthy, financially secure and happy as we age.

• Together, we celebrate those who own their age. We hold a mirror up to against
beliefs; discuss new ways of living and aging, and the solutions that make this
possible.

• Today, adults 50 and older face distinct challenges and have different goals than
those in their 30’s and 40’s. The 50-plus are at a different place in their lives and

they’re motivated by different things.
