Aaron Jaffe, MD/CareMore Scholarship
This award was created by the CareMore Medical Management Company in memory of Dr. Aaron Jaffe,
who taught internal medicine at WesternU from 1994 to 2000. This award is presented to a second- or third-year student for academic achievement, particularly in the area of cardiology studies.
Jaskirat Bhatia
Class of 2021
Jaskirat found his passion for Cardiology as an undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. As a forward- thinking volunteer with a local medical organization, Jaskirat worked hard and became the Public Health Education Director for
said organization. His preclinical years at WesternU solidified his desires to not only pursue
cardiology; they allowed him to hone his skills and his abilities with the patients he would see in his clinical years. He is a compassionate caregiver who thinks of his patients and their loved ones and the long lives that they deserve together.
Farhan Himmati
Class of 2021
With multiple publications to his credit, Farhan Himmati is a future cardiologist who is determined
to leave his mark on the field.
His family’s medical struggles have made him an advocate for holistic multifaceted care and his work at the Stanford University Cardiovascular Institute provided
the framework for a future in Cardiology. He has been involved in pharmaceutical studies that have opened his eyes to the possibilities in patient care. While at WesternU, Farhan became a student leader as a Teaching Assistant and as a Curriculum Representative in the Student Government Association. Farhan is a member of the Osteopathic honors fraternity, Sigma Sigma Phi, and served as its Service Coordinator.
