Class of 2022
Angela truly cares about the health and well-being of her student colleagues at WesternU. In her role as COMP Wellness Advocate, she has worked tirelessly for funding
to restore the HEC treadmill desks and has helped organize other events – such as the Wellness 5K – to encourage physical wellness. She
was instrumental in creating the COMPeer Program, which connects current students who are dealing with challenges with an alumni/upperclassman who has successfully navigated the same situation. Angela is always a beam of sunshine and
is ready to spark up a conversation or laugh with any of her classmates. Her positivity, willingness to help, and focus
on student wellbeing are many of the reasons why Angela exemplifies the WesternU way.
MARCH 2020 Arjun Bakshi
Class of 2022
Arjun “Corey” led the initiative to create face masks for healthcare workers endangered by the lack of PPE. His effort began as a modest request for a handful of volunteers help create 100-200 face masks for workers at Pomona Valley Hospital. The project quickly gained the support of over 85 volunteers;
students and local businesses and expanded to also create masks for workers at Mission Hospital. The goal was surpassed with over 600 face masks created, including 200 medical grade surgical masks donated, and continues to grow. Corey’s leadership helped foster the altruistic spirit within COMP to not just flatten the curve, but also assist our colleagues on the frontlines.
