• Division by 10, 100, and 1,000
To divide by 10, 100, 1,000, and so on, move the decimal point to the left
in the dividend as many places as there are zeroes in the divisor.
1. Dividing by 10
Example 1: ₱8450 = ₱845.0, = ₱845.00

Example 2: ₱84.50 = ₱8.4.50 = ₱8.45

Note: Move the decimal point one place to the left.
2. Dividing by 100
Example 1: ₱8450 = ₱84.50. = ₱84.50

Example 2: ₱84.50 = ₱. 84.50 = ₱0.845

Note: Move the decimal point two places to the left.
3. Dividing by 1,000
Example 1: ₱74750 = ₱ 74.750. = ₱74.75

Note: Move the decimal point three places to the left.
• The Whole Number Divisor
When the dividend contains a decimal and the divisor is a whole number,
the decimal point in the quotient is placed directly above the decimal point in the
dividend.
