                                             Insights  into  Urban  Farming  and  Controlled  Environment  Agriculture
                                             (CEA): Innovative technologies for commercial adoption and their viability

                                             to make CEA scalable.
                                             Agritech sector has seen rapid growth in the past few years and the dia-

                                             logue has changed considerably post Covid 19. Significant investment in
                                             vertical farming and controlled environment operations has seen the in-
                                             dustry  develop  commercial-scale  operations.  The  challenge  now  is
                                             around developing the business models for deployment where we could

                                             grow  more  food  and  use  less  resource.  There  is  a  critical  need  to  re-
                                             imagine the food system.
                                             The webinar was aimed at introducing advanced scalable urban farming

                                             technologies, ready for commercial adoption and implementation. Tech-
                                             nological  innovations  would  be  explained  which  are  aimed  at  reducing
                                             the  cost  of  production,  optimising  the  growing  environment  and  the
                                             breeding of plants best suited for CEAs and vertical farms. Such technolo-
                                             gies  are  attracting  significant  interest  from  both  conventional  growers
                                             and  newcomers,  stimulating  further  research  developments  and  com-
