Land to the Rear of Eden Meadows Alison Peters – Consultee Response
3.0 ALISON PETERS – CONSULTEE RESPONSE
3.1 The following section sets out each comment provided from Alison Peters in relation to the
Building for Life Criteria and where relevant to landscape and visual matters, and a response
in turn.
“1/Connections…internal connectivity is not provided…”
3.2 An additional footpath connection has been provided in the revised scheme layout.
“2/Facilities and services…play provision, in particular
provisions for toddler play areas along with a bench, should be
provided…”
3.3 It is the intention to provide suitable play equipment and appropriate street furniture within
the central open space of the Site.
5/Character…reference has not been made to the local
Landscape Character in the landscape strategy. The landscape
should be described in terms of the local study for local
landscapes, habitats and plant species”
3.4 The original LVIA submission and accompanying landscape strategy and planting schedule
made explicit reference to the local landscape character guidance, with a species mix of local
provenance included within the planting schedule. Additional detail is provided within the
Landscape Strategy Principles Document.
“6/Context…the site should respond more positively with
regards softening the village boundary with appropriate
vegetation”
3.5 The revised scheme layout incorporates deeper buffer along the boundaries that enable the
creation of a softer edge to the settled area.
“6/Context…more detail is required with regards the responses
to the local landscape context such as habitats and species”.
3.6 Please refer to the original Planting Schedule and LBMS that accompanied the original
submission, and the revised versions that take into account changes to the scheme layout . As
stated above the species chosen are heavily focussed on species of local provenance and
therefore do take into account the local landscape context.
“11/Clarity of public/private spaces…more information is
required regarding the landscape design proposals which are to
be cognisant of the Landscape Character Area assessment. The
landscape proposals are broadbrush at this stage.
