UGLJARE (in the Middle ages Uliare, Priština): remains of an old church on the site called Crkvište (ruins of a church). UJZ (Djakovica): old graveyard.
UKČA (in the Middle ages Usce, istok): a Turkish census from the 15th c. makes mention of a village priest and a monk; the traces of the old church have perished.
UROŠEVAC: the church dating from 1901 formerly existed; it was abandoned after the construction of the new church of the Holy King Uroš in 1933 (the new church treasures an in- teresting collection of 19th-century icons).
VAGANEŠ (K. Kamenica): church of the Mother of God from 1354/1355, with frescos from the 14th and the 16th c.; the re- mains of a graveyard from medieval and more recent times surround the church.
VALAČ (K. Mitrovica): remains of a modest sized church building and a significant prehistoric settlement.
VARAGE (in Kolašin upon the ibar): two ancient churches, restored at a recent time, and an old graveyard.
VAROŠ SELO (Uroševac): a small church and an old grave- yard.
VELEKINCE (Gnjilane): the old, demolished Serbian church on the site called Vakaf.
VELETIN (Priština): ruins of the medieval fortress of Veletin. VELEŽA (Prizren): remains of the old church of the Mother of God amolyntos with a graveyard (near the village); in the 14th c., “the Berislavci church” was located in the vicinity peak of the same name, with the remains of a church.
VELIKA DOBRANJA (Lipljan): remains of an old church were situated in the hamlet of Lesnica.
VELIKA HOČA (in the Middle ages Hotca, Orahovac): 1. church of St. Nicholas, in the graveyard (probably from the second half of the 14th c. restored in the 16th c. with the re- mains of frescos from the 14th and the 16th c.; 2. church of St. john, with 14th and 16th century frescos; 3. church of St. Ste- phen from the 14th c. (subseqently restored) with the frescos painted in the 16th and the 19th c.; 4. church of St. Kyriake, erected in the 19th c. on the foundations of an older church; 5. church of St. Paraskeve, constructed over the remains of an older church; 6. church of St. anna, erected in the 20th c. on the foundations of an older church; 7. ruins of the church of St. Luke (recently reconstructed); 8. ruins of the church of the Holy archangels from the 16 c. (the surviving iconostasis dat- ing from 1601); 9. remains of the church of St. Peter (16th c.) on
Uroševac, church of Holy Emperor Uroš, 20th century.
The church was demolished and burnt by the albanian extremists after the arrival of KFOR to Uroševac, at the end of june 1999.
