              65a 65 STANLEY BARNES KNOT
The Stanley Barnes Knot comes from the world
of fishing. It is similar to a Figure of Eight Loop [28]
but incorporates an extra twist for added security
in nylon casts, leaders or spinning lines. It is
strong, safe, easy to remember, streamlined and is
                                well-suited to boat ropes.
Take a long bight of the line and lay out a figure
of eight as in 65a, then cross the bight over (65b)
and bring it up through the main loop (65c). Now
settle and tighten the knot adjusting the loop size
                                as necessary (65d).
