lthough I am relatively new to St. Louis, the
Acity is not a new place to me. My twin sister
lives in Columbia, IL. So, I had become familiar
with the most remarkable places in the city long
before I moved here. What I like about St. Louis
is its love of classical music and the arts. It at-
tracts me with its theaters, concert halls, muse-
ums and parks, all having a bright individuality.
The residents of St. Louis are open and friendly,
and I appreciate my new friends here.
I greatly enjoy classical music and therefore, am
a regular guest at the St. Louis Symphony. I like
reading. I also appreciate any kind of outdoor
activities, including hiking, swimming, camping,
and biking. Actually, I can't live without close
contact with nature; I am definitely not an
urbanist.
Perhaps, my main passion is dancing. I have
been doing zumba for years and as others say
I am not bad at it. Dancing means a lot to me
to express myself. Also, zumba helps me make
friends.
I think that my most important personal
achievement is our son who, in spite of his
darya urusova, Ph.d. young age, is a very responsible and thoughtful
husband and father of two adorable kids.
researCh sCientist First, I enjoy working in a lab. I like to learn new
dePartment oF BiomediCal engineering things and solve puzzles. In addition, there is a
piece of stardust and excitement too. As is
jonathan silva laBoratory well-known, cardiovascular diseases are the
leading cause of death worldwide, since
everyday stress affects those organs the most.
Both of my parents passed away before their
moleCular Biology, BioChemistry time because of these diseases. I am happy to
see how new research in the field and new
& CrystallograPhy technology bring more hope to the people
suffering from heart problems. Therefore, I want
to contribute to this noble quest and hope that I,
too, can make a change for the better.
