THE EFFECTS OF 11+ DANCE ON REDUCING
THE RISK OF INJURIES FOR CONTEMPORARY

                                              DANCERS

                                              ABSTRACT

                                              RESEARCH BACKGROUND

There are several common injuries among contemporary dancers, such as hip injuries,
foot and ankle injuries, knee injuries, and so on. There are several ways to reduce
the risk of injuries, such as warm-up programs, stretching exercises, or massage
sessions. This project aims to determine whether a warm-up program would reduce
                                              the risk of injury.

                                              METHODOLOGY

BSocSc (Hons) in Sports and A total of 10 subjects were invited and randomly divided into two groups, an intervention
Recreation Management group and a control group. The subjects participated in a pre-test and a post-test. The
Department of Sport and Recreation intervention group would participate in the treatment program. The test was based on
the single-leg front (SLFH); handheld Dynamometer (HHD) isometric strength test for
dynamic and static strength; balance error scoring system (BESS); and single-leg side
                                              hop (SLSH).
    OBJECTIVES FINDINGS

The data was analyzed using SPSS. Regarding the BESS, especially for single-leg

the risk of injury. The target audience obtained.

My name is CHU Tak Him, Woody. My interest is basketball, but the main sport that
I play is swimming. I have been teaching swimming since I was 18 years old, and I
want to become a professional swimming coach. Therefore, I chose to study sports
therapy. I hope to learn more about the subject to design a better training program for
swimmers with different levels or age groups. My FYP supervisor is Mr Indy HO Man
