THE IMPACT OF 11+ DANCE INJURY PREVENTION
EXERCISE PROGRAM ON REDUCING THE RISK
ASSOCIATED WITH FOOT AND ANKLE INJURIES FOR
COLLEGIATE CONTEMPORARY DANCERS
ABSTRACT
RESEARCH BACKGROUND
The rate of dancers suffering from injuries in the lower limbs is high. However, there
are limited dancing medicinal research studies on injury prevention programs among
contemporary dancers. These kinds of long-term injury patterns are detrimental to
WONG YIU KI dancers’ careers or health and affect the development of the dancing industry. This
study explores the effectiveness of the 11+Dance program and whether it could reduce
injury rates based on strength, balance, and stability aspect improvement.
