R&W Scott was first established in 1873 by
local brothers Robert and William Scott.
The pair started harvesting strawberries at
Mashockmill Orchard in Carluke before the
company was officially founded in 1880. For
more than 130 years, R&W Scott has been
handcrafting preserves and jams from its site
in the heart of Carluke with local people at the helm. The company
employs 98 people and some have been there for more than 30
years. R&W Scott is one of the lead sponsors of the Jam and Ham
Festival.
Managing Director John Easton is hugely
proud of the company’s local roots.
“R&W Scott is delighted to be
supporting the Jam and Ham Festival
once again.
Being a local business, we are aware of the importance of
community within Carluke. The festival also gives us the opportunity
to showcase our products to the people of Carluke.
R&W Scott prides itself on family and community connections, so to
sponsor a festival which promotes both is very important for us.”
