I turned back to the sea from where I’d come. It didn’t seem

as big now as it had when I’d been floating. I saw no signs of
commotion or anything that seemed out of the ordinary. I

couldn’t quite understand what had happened, but I knew

that I was alive, and for that I was grateful.
