A Mermaid’s Daily Routine

I wake up in my comfy bed,
Made out of a giant shell.
I swim to the mirror and take a look,
“Perfect, I’m looking swell.”
Then I polish my tail, a splendid red.
And get ready to ring the bell.
It’s my job to read the little mermaids a book.
And they’re so excited I can tell.
Once that is done, I go ahead,
And bid my friends farewell.
I’m going to swim in my favorite nook,
And it’s a secret I cannot tell.
I swim for hours by myself and then, I go back and head,
Back to my home and my shell.
I bring home with me from my adventure a shoe, a barnacle, and a hook,
Things I would never sell.
A day of a mermaid is spent swimming idly,
watching other fish go by.
It is spent exploring widely,
And simply passing the time
