E fforts to foster the next generation of Indonesian photographers have entered a new phase.
The Federation of Photographic Society of Indonesia (FPSI) held the 1st Indonesia International Youth
Photo Festival (IIYPF) 2026, an international forum that brought together young photographers from
Indonesia and abroad.

space for learning, collaboration,
and cross-cultural exchange.
Thousands of participants from
across Indonesia took part,
alongside young photographers
(max 25 years) from 13 countries.

For more than five decades,
FPSI has seen that the strength
of national photography lies in
its younger generation. Through
this festival, we aim to create
an ecosystem that is not only

IIYPF 2026 was the International Photo Exhibition, which featured 220 participants from 23 universities.
Of these, 10 institutions were from Indonesia, while 13 represented universities from the Americas,
Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The exhibition was held in Galeri Pandeng (FIAP Exhibition Center)
and RJ Katamsi Galeri in The Indonesia Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI-Yogyakarta).
