In addition to the exhibition, the festival featured a series of workshops covering various
approaches to photography, including photojournalism, street photography, model photography,
and digital content creation.

The festival’s dynamic atmosphere was further strengthened by the On-The-Spot Photo
Competition for young photographers (max 25 years of age). Around 600 participants joined the
competition, representing over 30 universities, 38 high schools, and three junior high schools from
26 cities across Indonesia.
The competition format required participants to capture images directly on location based on
the specific theme, demanding speed, precision, and sensitivity in capturing moments. At the same
time, it fostered a healthy competitive spirit among young photographers.

The organization of IIYPF 2026 was made possible through the collaboration of various
stakeholders, most especially the collaboration between the Federation of Photographic Society of
Indonesia (FPSI), the Indonesia Institute of the Arts of Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta) and the Photography
Student Association of the ISI Yogyakarta. The organizing committee was also supported by HISFA-
Yogyakarta, Student Photography Club of Gadjah Mada University (UFO-UGM) and the Student
Photography Club of Duta Wacana Christian University. They were also supported by the Ministry of
Competition Opening Creative Economy Republic Indonesia.
