Activity: Make 3D ball and stick models of a molecule of any one element and any one
compound out of the given choices.
The students were asked to use the basic materials available at home like newspaper, clay,
toothpicks, broom sticks, glue, colours etc to do this activity. This activity gave a kinaesthetic
learning experience to the students as they were able to learn about the arrangement of atoms
in different molecules by creating their own 3D models. The activity not only helped in spurring
up their creativity but also helped them to concretize the theoretical knowledge that they had
learnt about the concept of matter in their virtual classrooms and correlate the same with this
practical hands-on activity.
