Table 16 shows, for each department and for each course level, the percentage of
student/credit hours corresponding to students majoring at the same department. For 100
level courses, with exception of Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Department of
Agricultural Sciences and Urban Forestry, Department of Electrical Engineering, this
percentage is very small (notably, 1.50% for Department of Languages and Literature and
0.66% for Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Science/Mathematics Education). This
confirms hypothesis that 100 level courses can be treated as service/general education
courses). A number of departments do not have 100 level courses! For 400 level, this
percentage is generally very high.
