Music

The Music program has been nationally accredited since 1955 and the Marching Band has been its
most visible component. The purpose of the Music Unit is to maintain a sustainable and creative
center of learning in the Department of Fine & Performing Arts and to meet the current and future
needs of Southern University students. While committed to serving students from diverse cultural
