MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
ACROSS THE DISTRICT & BEYOND
On November 5, 2022, Lions Merle Warren and Bernice Fraser (Committee Member) attended the NYC Brooklyn 3, Brooklyn 8 and
Brooklyn 16 Community Boards’ Veterans Appreciation Parade and Veterans Resource Fair held at Boys and Girls High School, in
Brooklyn, New York. The Mental Health Committee had a table and provided mental health resources and information to the
veterans and community. The event was well attended and provided an opportunity for the community to learn about the mental
health resources available through District 20-K1.
On November 14, 2022, Chairperson Merle Warren presented at the Second District General Meeting on the topic “Mindfulness:
Self-Care in Times of Storms” and “Seasonal Affective Disorder”. A flyer was created for this presentation ( see ANNOUNCEMENTS
section of this E-News / Magazine).
On November 26, 2022, Mental Health Committee member Dr. Maureen Cort-Blackson presented “Mental Health and Resilience:
Beyond the Pandemic”. to the congregation and community of Boulevard Seven Day Adventist Church, in Philadelphia, PA.
