MEDICAL SERVICES AT NYC MARATHON

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, Lion Merle Warren (FVP) served as one of
the seven medical professionals who provided service at the 51 Annual
st
TCS New York City Marathon.
She was stationed at Mile Marker 14 in Queens and provided first aid

and health services to the more than 50,000+ runners. Lion Merle is a
registered nurse at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and NYU Lutheran Hospitals.
Lion Merle noted, “Giving service of yourself is such an inspirational

Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc. Donated Items

to Keep New Yorkers Warm this Winter Season

On October 26, 2022, Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc.’s members
President Sandra Townsend, Secretary Iris Allen and Treasurer Gloria
Garraway presented over 150+ winter coats, hats, scarfs, and gloves to
Liz Sergi, the Clinical Program Director of Social Work of Helen Keller
Services for the Blind. The Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc., partnered
with Helen Keller Services for the Blind to collect winter coats, hats, gloves
and scarfs. The Winter Clothing Drive was held from October 1 to October
26, 2022. The Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc. collected and donated
Coats (Adults/Kids): 82; Hats (Adults/Kids): 35; Scarfs (Adults/Kids): 27, and
Gloves (Adults/Kids): 20. The donated clothes will be added to Helen’s
Closet of Helen Keller Services for the Blind and will be provided to
program participants and residents of the communities of Brooklyn, New
York City, Hempstead and Islandia, Long Island. For more information to
