20-K1 SERVES:
TCS / NYC MARATHON 2022
Lions and Leos started to assemble at Mile 8, in Brooklyn,
since 6:00 am on Sunday, November 6, 2022, to support
the TCS New York City Marathon. They were ready to
offer gatorade and water to approximately 50,000 runners,
48 wheelchair participants and 47 hand-cycles.
It was a bright and sunny day and the 26.2-mile race
began at 8:00am. Runners made their way through all five
boroughs of NYC, starting on the Verrazano–Narrows Bridge
on Staten Island and passing through Brooklyn, Queens,
Manhattan and the Bronx, before finishing in Central Park.
• Evans Chebet, 33-year-old ( Kenya) won first place in
the men’s race, finishing in 2:08:41 hours.
• Sharon Lokedi, 28-year-old (Kenya) won first place in District 20-K1 smiles while serving
the women’s race, finishing in 2:23:23 hours.
• Marcel Hug, 36-year-old ( Switzerland) won first place
in the men’s wheelchair division, finishing in 1:25:26
hours.
• Susannah Scaroni, 31-year-old ( Illinois, (USA) won first
place in women’s wheelchair division, finishing in
1:42:43 hours.
• Fabio Faborges, 43-year-old ( Brazil ) won first place in
men’s hand cycles division, finishing in 1:35:09 hours.
After the marathon, Lions and Leos dismantled their water
station and bagged their trash which was picked up by
garbage trucks.
