Henry’s Time The month of April was a busy Lions month for our district. We had so much going and full of Lions activities and community service that I
just wanted to thank all of you personally for what you do.. Thanks to all.
I like would also express my appreciation to 2VDG Keith and Centennial Coordinator Vinod for the magnificent job they did with the Lions District picnic last April 22nd. Fun was had by all. I would be remiss if I did not thank Lion Looney and his family for their support too..
DG Bill has asked that each club have their Officers PU101completed by April 15th. As of April 30th the district has only received 37 Presidents, 36 Secretaries, 33 Membership Chairs, and 15 LCIF Coordinators out of the 62 Clubs it represents. Your club needs to submit your officers report to Lions Clubs International. Lion Tom McCallister, 2017-18 2-X1 District Directory Editor, must have the names of
your officers for the district directory by May 15, 2017. He is required to download the
information for the directory from your PU-101 submitted to LCI.
As a president for your club you are responsible to support having a Membership Chair and the new LCIF Club Coordinator positions nominated by your club and elected as a member of the club’s board of directors. These are one-year service terms that require re-elections each Lions year.
A big thank you has to go out to all of you who helped make the 2016-17 2-X1 District Convention such a success. DG Bill had an excellent convention. Most impressive was having ID Alan Lundgren as our keynote speaker encouraging and entertaining us in Lionism. I would like to express my gratitude to MD2 Council Chair CC T. J. Tijerina for his inspiring words of wisdom. (Continued Page 7)

Keith's Komments What an exciting Month! We had an increase in membership, more clubs are reporting their activities, and
we had a District Picnic, a District Convention and a Grass Roots Banquet. The Dallas Filipino Lions Club had a nice anniversary event. The Sight and Tissue Golf
Tournament was a successful event. Thank you for your vote of confidence in electing me as your next 1st Vice Governor. Congratulations to my successor Lion Vinod Mathur as your newly elected 2nd Vice
Governor for the Lions year beginning in July.
The District Picnic was held outside of Kaufman at the Looney Farm, hosted by your new 2VDGE, Lion Vinod and your 1VDGE Lion Keith. Hot Dogs and Hamburgers were served to those in attendance – but few were there. We had some good games and a fun hayride seeing the cattle that Lion
Bill Looney raises. They also host scouting and church youth groups for fun and camping on the property. IPDG Kate Tyre handed out 100% Lion Awards for last year. If you did not attend you missed a nice time. Plan on attending next year’s picnic now!
Welcome to our 2 new Lions Clubs and to all the other new members for the month. We are on track to having a plus for the district. Hold your drops until July 1st as you have already paid for their dues. We are down to only 9 clubs not reporting activities, including a couple larger ones that are very active.
We just finished a great annual District Convention. (Continued Page 7) VOLUME 27 ISSUE 11 / MAY 2017
