Make your club’s service year the best one ever!
Calling all club officers, new Lions, emerging leaders and every Lion in your club to register and
attend Lions 2-X1 University.
Your $30 fee gets you breakfast, lunch and appetizers plus the complete 2-X1 Lion training manual. You will be motivated by Council Chair Elect Lion Rick Talbert and receive 6 hours of
classroom training by Lion experts. Plus, at lunch, you will hear from our new
International Director Lion Sam Lindsey.
This year there are no “degree plans”. All courses are open to any Lion interested in the class. There are specific courses for Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, Tail Twisters, Membership Chairs, Project Chairs, club LCIF Chairs, and New Lions but they are all open to any Lion to attend. And there are open courses on Lion Leadership, Using Microsoft Excel, Using Intuit Quickbooks Pro, Public Speaking, Web Page Design, Presentation Skills, Event and Meeting Management, Utilizing Social Media/Public Relations and Marketing, Grant Writing, Smart Goal Setting, Motivating Members, Sponsoring a Leo Club, Mentoring New Members
and Holding an Open House. Wow! Many of these are new, so all past LU attendees have new courses available for them this year. (Continued Page 7)

ANOTHER NEW CLUB – ANOTHER PARTY
District 2-X1 is proud to celebrate the latest new club in our district to be chartered by Lions International. The Dallas Frisco Indian Centennial Lions Club has received its Centennial Charter from LCI and that means it is time for another Charter Night celebration (see pages 18 and 49) to welcome this new club into Lionism.
The Charter Night celebration will be Sunday night, May 7, 2017, at Minerva Café 3825 Spring Creek, Plano, Texas. The festivities will begin at 6:00 pm and the “serious stuff” starts at 7:00.
This is a “big deal” for our district and for Lionism. It is very important that all Lions and representatives from all clubs in 2-X1 attend the charter night and help us launch this new club on their way to accomplishing great things for our community and for Lionism. Come be a part of this important event.
