Sachse Lions and Turkey Legs
For two years in a row off highway 78 in front of the American National Bank in Sachse TX sometime during the month of April for 4 hours you can buy turkey legs from the Sachse Lions Club. Just look for their sign and the enthusiastic sales promotions going on at the side of the road. They held up their signs and waved to everyone who drove by, you couldn’t miss them. They talked Lionism to everyone who stopped in to buy a turkey leg. The Wylie Evening Lions may just get two prospective members that were sent their way from the event. Even IPDG Kate hung out with them and talked Lionism with their
customers. This turns out to
be more than a Sachse LC
event. Lions from Garland,
Rowlett, Wylie, Royce City
and Mesquite participated in
Lion Luci Massey and Leo the Lion
or at least stopped and bought a couple of turkey legs (for dinner we assume).
This is the second year the Sachse Club has done this. Both times they were very
successful. They are looking to make this an annual event. Some of the funds will go to the Five Loaves Food Pantry in Sachse while another part will also go to the Texas Lions Camp. They all had a great time together. Everyone saw Lions enjoying each other. The new Sachse Lions experienced great Lion friendships. I guess we will see you again next year. Sounds like a fun way to say “WE SERVE”.

Wylie Evening Supports Special Olympics
The Wylie Evening Lions Club worked the concession stand at the Wylie ISD Special Olympics basketball game on Thursday, March 2nd this year, at Wylie High
School. The Club bought the snacks, sold the snacks, and donated the money to the Wylie ISD Special Olympics. This fundraiser basketball game was the Wylie Heat (Wylie ISD's students with special needs team) vs Wylie Police, and Wylie Fire Departments. This game allows
the students to showcase their abilities while having fun with Wylie's heroes (Wylie PD/Wylie FD). A great time was had by all while supporting the community.
