Global Service Team
We are almost at the half-way point for the year. One of the goals that LCI has created for The Global Service team is to encourage your club to conduct a diabetes screening clinic.
Diabetes is a growing world epidemic. Currently, 1 in 2 (46.5%) of adults with diabetes are undiagnosed. The purpose of diabetes screening is to identify asymptomatic individuals who may have diabetes and not know it, and refer them to qualified healthcare professionals for additional assessment. A diabetes screening can help detect prediabetes as well as diabetes. There are simple steps to follow.
1. Partner with healthcare professionals
2. Obtain legal clearance/permits from local authorities 3. Select a date
4. Provide advance publicity
5. Establish a referral plan
Please share your success with District 2-X1 and LCI! Your club CAN make a difference in your community. For more information, please see the link http:// members.lionsclubs.org/EN/serve/diabetes/diabetes-screening.php
