Furthermore, some of the teachers have a very old and basic way of teaching. They
believe that learners may not engage in classroom discussions or group works
because instead of engaging in constructive conversations, they make u
constructive noise which wastes valuable time. Some of the teachers believe that
teaching and learning in the classroom means the teacher does most of the talking
while the learners simply listen, write notes and ask questions.

I noticed that learners were very reluctant to answering questions and engaging
with the content when I started teaching at the school. They showed signs of being

used to being spoon fed with content by the teacher, the teacher even said that
they no longer engage learners in the process of teaching because they are
reluctant when it comes to participation. The school therefore needs an ideal
teacher who will be able to let learners engage with the content through group
discussions and role plays. This will enable learners to share their ideas, giving
the teachers enough room to gain learner's background knowledge about the
               content.
