SECOND GRADE
The Class of 1975 looks back upon a year of many accomplishments.
Under the guidance of its new teacher, Mrs. Ruth Fanselow, the second grade spent considerable time with arithmetic, learning addition and subtraction with "new math" methods.
Work with phonics was continued from the first grade. Impressive progress was made in reading, and a full quota of readers was completed.
In social studies, second graders paid especial attention to public servants: firemen, policemen, post men, and the like. Stamps and stamp cancellations were studied, and a collection of cancellations from all over the country was assembled.
The students feel well prepared for the year ahead.
