File 1927 Field Day was held on May tw'enty-Hrst under the man agement of Hal Bingham. Most amusing of the jumping, hurdling, shotÂ
putting, and racing events were the Elementary sack-race in which the participants were much aided as to agility and grace by the presence of potato-sacks around their feet, and the Academic obstacle relay which
proved the fleetness of the runners when materially assisted by galoshes, skirts, and umbrellas. After the last event, which was the class relay race won by the Sophomores, the prize winners were announced. Among
the contestants for points, Gertrude Olsen was outstanding with three first
places and was awarded the cup, which was presented at the Athletic Ban- ejnet. The Fdementary Medal was won by I.ouise Anthony of the sixth
