The annua) riding exhibition was held Field Day afternoon in Mrs. ’Verkes’ show ring, which she very kindly offered to the school. At four
o’clock automobiles and people lined the ring side,' and the events began.
Eight girls represented Oakwood against a large field of day pupils. The first three classes were for horsemanship. Each class was divided according to age. Florence Ruthrauff, Betty Cox, and Helen Butterfield won blue ribbons in their respective classes. The championship class
proved the most difficult for the judges to decide, as all the riders rode so very well. Finally the sih’er trophy and champion’s ribbon were pre sented to Betty Cox, amid much applause from the spectators. The re
serve ribbon was given to Florence Ruthrauff. The exhibition ended with an excellent class of jumping won by Doris Laing.
Everyone thought the exhibition the most successful the School has ever had, owing to the wonderful management of Mr. Gordonwood, the instructor, and the co-operation of all the contestants.
