Upon your costly gifts, That with that wealth
With which you purchased all these trivial things "i'ou might have saved
A life.
And yet you call this Christmas!

Honor
Honor came from o’er the sea, Her Haming sword held high;
“ I am the dAst; who follows me?” d he country heard her cry.
A swelling host left vale and hill. And rushed to Honor’s van;
We know thy voice; thou knowest our will 1 We pledge thee might of man!”
But Honor said, “ I must have more.” Up leaped the glowing West,
And the whole land, from shore to shore. Stood up to meet the test.
Honor then her banner raised. As stainless as a star.
And reverent, men upon it gazed. And followed her to war.
